Any Jpop/Jrock fans here? Bit surprise I didn't see a thread for it.

Now I'm not a huge fan of it since I'm a lyric man myself, and I don't speak Japanese but some of it is pretty great out there.
Speaks beyond words. Like instrumentals..., but with words.
(geez that was lame)
Hard to find the great stuff to post from Youtube since Japan's copyright laws are strict (and only getting stricter)

Anyways.. What are some of your favorites?

My favorite Jpop song of all time by Ikimono Gakari
Great version of it Live that's just amazing.

One of the most popular best selling of last year's. Comes addicting after awhile.

And my favorite song that was featured in a anime. *World of Narue*
Saeko Chiba who sings it also voice one of the characters from the show, This song wasn't her only single she released but shame she stopped.

Was it the Maru Maru song? I know right, totally. Gave me nightmares at first, but the 2nd play weeks later made me download it.
At least I didn't post anything from AKB48 or SKE48. Pretty much the same band... but always seems to dominate the Oricon music charts.

Just not a fan of the girl groups.. which is easily 70% of the stuff out there.

Probably will stop posting on this thread since it seems I'm the only one on this forum who seemingly enjoys this kind of stuff.
(Not a weeaboo, can't state that enough, just a broad musical taste)

by the Brilliant Green.

and the first Japanese artist that I started listening too is CooRie, which she is amazing. Does all the lyrics and the music arrangements herself. Plus the singing, very talented.
Most of her stuff gets picked up for anime's , games ect.

^ Ok that one WAS disturbing. But in a good way. (not sure why I'm just seeing it now, been busy I guess)

See what I mean about copyrights, half the stuff I've posted been taken down, I must be a curse since some of it had been up for a long time.

Ikimono Gakari is still my favorite Jband but CooRie is my favorite singer, and this single of hers has been my favorite (J) song for a few years now. Even at one time my favorite song period! It's one of only a few songs that every time I listen to it , I shed a tear.

Call me sad/pathetic if you wish but it's a great song.

This one's great also, and probably more tasteful for others. Even heard from people who typically don't like Jpop that they find it good.

ClariS. Known for their openings in Oreimo S1 and Puella Magi Madoka.

But besides ClariS... there are J-pop groups other than ClariS?!

Jokes aside, I really dig Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ). I hope she comes out with more stuff. Besides that the only J-pop in my library comes from anime openings. Zero no Tsukaima, Yuru Yuri, ect. ect.

I have loved her voice since the second the AOS started, actually the only series I've watched in full where half way through the series I'd never found myself just fast forwarding through the opening.

It's also a shame about this band, how the guitar player is a convicted serial rapist. (true story)
