What's the best way to go these days if one wanted to purchase music? I have iTunes, but haven't bought from the store ever. I've used Amazon in the past, but they use MP3 format at 192 bit rate I believe. Any recommendations? Also, doesn't iTunes restrict the songs bought to the account of an individual? You can authorize and share on other computers for other people to listen to, but never actually copy it to someone's computer for use otherwise right? |

If I go as far as to buy music, I want it in physical form. Yes, I want a CD, with the little booklet insert, in a jewel case with all the graphics. Then I can rip the CD into high quality MP3 for my computer music library. |

Music you buy off from Itunes are locked and protected. If you're buying just a few singles here and there Itunes are ripoff's. What it's now like 1.30$ each. Haven't bought a single track off from them in years. Can't picture Amazon being better. I still buy physical Cd's from Bestbuy. More into albums then singles. Think it'd be the same today but when I first got my Ipod 5/6 years ago whatever, before downloding any song , had my cousin give me all of his Itunes list to add to mine. Which was good for a few days until I started getting my own. And all was lost after updating my Pod since didn't have the locations of his files on my computer. Sooo... yeah. |

@Sunset Amazon is about a dollar per song (w/ 9 cent sales tax since I'm in WA) with some discounts of a few dollars if you buy a whole album (all online). Amazon keeps track of all the songs you buy so you can redownload them if you ever use them. @Ring What ranging said. Usually if I want to buy a song, it's an artist I like a lot, so I'm ok with actually paying them for their good work. I've used Youtube some, but usually only for songs you probably can't find on iTunes or Amazon. Haven't tried ripping from Pandora. Don't know how. |
