A number of Guthix druids have discovered an unexplored cave under the lower Wilderness, just north of Varrock. Inside is a new, one-on-one, tactical PvP combat minigame, available to both members and free players! The cave appears to have been left undisturbed since the time of the god wars, guarded over the years by Fiara, a giant earwig and protector of something called the Fist of Guthix. Great powers emanate from this 'Fist' and the druids have managed to convince Fiara to allow them to gather charges from it. Being light on numbers, they need others to help them, which is where you come in! In the spirit of Guthix, Fiara has introduced a 'balance' to this minigame. For each adventurer looking to absorb the power of the fist, there is another trying to chop, range or cast spells at them! You and another adventurer must each take a turn being the hunted or the hunter. The hunted's task is to survive as long as possible, storing charges in a stone of power as the time counts down, while the hunter simply has to defeat the hunted in as quick a time as possible! The energy of this mysterious area has quite an impact on those who attempt to absorb the power from the Fist of Guthix. Even the mightiest of warriors will find themselves severely weakened as they avoid the hunter, making it incredibly difficult to survive for long. The cave does offer some help in the form of places to hide, but will this be enough? After both you and your opponent have had a chance to be the hunted, victory is assigned to those who stored the most charges in their stone of power. Fist of Guthix tokens will then be given out, based on how well you did, with which you can purchase a wide variety of rewards, including magical gloves to help you boost your XP, spiked shields and many more. Summary
In other news... Hunter pet variations have been added to many places in RuneScape. Monkeys, squirrels, raccoons and geckos can now be found in several different shapes, colours and sizes, so get hunting! The Party Room chest has been changed to better reflect the value of the items that are in it. It now checks the items against the Grand Exchange market price, so you should find a more accurate drop party value in banks or the Party Room. Having looked at feedback on the Forums, we have changed the ibis, granite crab and granite lobster so that they give a small amount of Fishing experience when catching fish - a nice little bonus, we think you'll find! A few graphical issues popped up last week: a pier in Neitiznot disappeared and a small hole opened up on Karamja! Guthix has restored the balance and these have been repaired. Finally, a change has been made to the Culinaromancer's chest and the gnome ingredients shop at the Grand Tree. Item prices in these shops should be more attractive. |

Given that this has only just been released and I haven't had a chance to test out the minigame yet, I'd say this looks terrible. The concept behind the game is alright, but it's not what people want at all, is it? Nice one, Jagex. Aside from that, the rewards aren't as great as expected either... although to be honest I wasn't expecting much. Double runecraft xp was way too good to be true. XD |

Though this has been in the works for some time, I can't help but agree with Chief Snake. The rewards aren't nearly as good as I would have expected an additional replacement for the Wilderness to be, and as of yet, Jagex hasn't posted prices of any rewards. It's sort of nice they're tradeable and all, but I can only see a use for a few of the items. Most of the rewards are aimed at lower/mid level players, which sort of screws over any of the former Pking greats. I'll probably end up trying this out, but I can't see many higher level members playing this as much as they would have been in the Wilderness. I suppose Jagex covered a fair part of their player base, but they neglected several things to make everyone happy. |

Well I've been here for a while now. Got myself 300 tokens so far and a rating of close to 400. It's nice to be the hunter. If you're the hunted it's a bit boring. because all you do is just stand around in the circle. The slayer gloves seems a little useful. For the rest only the black d'hide coifs is looking good. Though it requires 500 tokens. So I've to play a little more. |

I actually rather like it - it's pretty fun. The only problem is every time I enter a portal I get logged out. Is anyone else having the same problem? Oh well, I suspect Jagex will fix it rather soon. |

I said 2/5. The runecraft gloves only have air, water, and earth. The rewards are expendable (except the robes, which are the only ones that can be recharged.) The battle robes don't even give a decent bonus. Another thing is that if you lag, even a little, it's game over. Also if the targets go into the center, there are so many people there that it is hard to see your target or their health. .....It was a good idea but it's just not implemented well enough for me to want to play it. |

When the update just came out, I gave it a 4/5 due to its challenge on hiding and hunting. Yes there was too many people so the hunter couldn't find you. Now that they updated it to a certain amount of players, I think it is a horrible update. Since the update, I have currently played: 0 games because of the update. There goes my chances to getting those items I wanted. So, I can't play the game, I would give it a 0/5, but since there is no option for that, 1/5. |

it was decent, tho coulda been more rewards geared towards higher levels only things that caught my eye were the dragon slayer gloves, and the herb gloves, tho after checking up more on them and finding out they crumble after so many uses instead of being rechargeable is just a waste tho did get meself the dragonslayer ones will test them out next time a get a metalic task. |

Keep in mind that you don't have to play in the assigned worlds. Other non - FOG worlds work better sometimes, as you get a game much faster. I think it is a really well made game. It actually does take strategy and certain tactics (I love luring people to the edge of the map then using my telesphere to get back to the center). Keep in mind that Jagex tend to release more rewards depending on how popular the minigame is, so we can still hope for some better rewards. |

[b] Keep in mind that you don't have to play in the assigned worlds. Other non - FOG worlds work better sometimes, as you get a game much faster.
Well, when I got back from school, I thought that it would still have assigned worlds (when they first updated they did) and so it told me to go to such and such worlds. I get back home and there still in the world status place was "Fist of Guthix" so I didn't know if it was assigned or not. 4/5 now. There are still some things that are a problem. People just go into the huts before they can get hurt. Making your job very difficult. |
