Runescape Bits & Bytes :: View topic - 30 April 2007

Among the things that we regularly see on the forums are possible uses for some of the jewellery that can't be enchanted yet. So this week's update is to give all those neglected necklaces a purpose. There were so many good suggestions, though, that we had to create an entirely new type of jewellery in order to use even a fraction of the great ideas! So that we could use more of these ideas, we've made bracelets with new magical effects which we hope will keep you enchanted.

We've added jewellery that lets you mine soft clay, some that have new teleport destinations, some that will help you in your Runecrafting, and, of course, some that will help you in combat, to mention just a few. The TzHaar have even got a necklace that will make their obsidian weapons more powerful! For more details have a look in the Knowledge Base.

Hmmm, all seem pretty useless except for. New Dragonstone jewlery and the no skull in Abyss thing. Since I use the abyss to travel to Lost City to get new Slayer assig. RSBandB Mystery Staff! Fighting Spam since 10:30

I don't think this is a good update at all, because they've made the rings look very... Not good looking, as if they were drawn by a 4 year-old.

i like being able to mine soft clay, helps me with teletabs, does kinda stink that it's used up in 1 load... for 5k soft clay i'll need 180 bracelets

this update is very good imo... 6/5 $\:D/$ i have been waitign for this all month. i mined 100 saphires emeralds and rubies, 30 diamonds, and collected 4 dragonstones just to take advantage of the update. unfortunately, the saphire bracelet sucks, and so does the ruby bracelet. double unfortunately, the ruby neclace is un-enchantable ... anyway... so i get to make 100 more rings of recoil i guess. unless trekie would like me to make him 100 clay bracelets... at cost price too... 300gp saph, 500gp gold ore, 200gp cosmic rune, = 1k each. 100k to get 2800 soft clay in half the time, eh? eh? $\:D/$ the emerald bracelets are what im making a huge profit off of... sellin 100 of them in castle wars for somewhere between 5k and 10k each. because its the first day, and because it says castle wars in its name (i think), and because they only have 3 charges each bracelet... i can get pretty quick sales there. i've had 500 rings of forging for months... should i smith 70k iron ore? or sell them all for 1.5 to 2m? meh, little of topic... the diamond bracelet, or abyssal brace(#) sells prety well actually. i was a bit suprized. but i guess the more insecure abyss rcers like the concept of keeping their items when if they get pkd. the diamond neclace, or phoenix neclace (aptly named, as phoeniges [plural of phoenix] rise from their ashes when they burst into flames) sells pretty well at the duel arena... it slike havign redemption on without wasting prayer points. i love it. you can also keep yourself alive twice by using it in combination with redemption, or leave yoru protect prayers on a few seconds longer before switching to that retribution you are storing up. i'v esold each of them at 10k each, but im sure you coudl sell more for the first 2 to 3 days. the dragonstone jewelry is tight. my friend, and master crafter, hiryuuko came on for 5 minutes... just long enough to help me craft 2 bracelets and 2 neclaces. she's an angel she is. the teleports are all great to have... especially the fishign guild teleport, because it plants you 30 seconds away from the legends guild, where you recharge them. thanks to the inconvenient quest required to acess the legends guild, i'd like to start a business with a few others to recharge this new jewelry for the unskilled players who cannot acess the guild, for a small fee of, say, 10k per piece of jewelry ? seriously though, these teleports help me a lot. i dont use law runes very often. i use glory amulets, games neclaces, rings of dueling, gnome transports, etc. anything to avoid having to waste my law runes. so the 7 new teleport locations will be very usefull indeed (fishing guild and ganging guild are so close together, i dont count them as seperate warps) more later maybe... (like i havent' posted enough already =P)

Fantastic update compared to what Jagex usually puts out. I'm looking forward to making some of the new items soon. I have 200+ of each sapphire, emerald, and ruby to waste... and about 70 diamond. Not too many Dragonstones though .

I was a little let down with sapphire braslet. I thought they would be able to mine more the just 28 wet clay. 5/5 still.

A little disappointing. The uses of them aren't that great. Saphire should at least do 100 clay. Why not have the telly ones recharge in the heroes guild like glory ammy? Where are they worn? On the glove spot or the ring spot?
