Post subject: | Barrow's Hunting Guide! |
Disclaimer: THIS SOLELY MY GUIDE. ANYTHING THAT IS NOT MINE, HAS BEEN CREDITED. I just started today, so it's rather short, but it gives you the basics. What are Barrows? This is a quote for RuneScape.com Quote: 9th May 2005 - Barrows
This weeks update isn't a quest, it's a huge new area full of equipment! As the swamp waters of south-east Morytania recede further, adventurers can now visit the burial mounds of great heroes, and brave warriors may even wish to dig for what treasures they can find. But beware, sinister forces lurk beneath the surface, and ancient evils never like to be disturbed. Do you dare to enter the Barrows? This update features the biggest combat additions since the RS2 launch, with new ranger, melee and prayer equipment to help you vanquish your enemies. Each of the barrow warriors has "sets" of armour, where individual pieces of each set work better when used in tandem with the rest, so be prepared to see new items and tactics the next time you brave the Wilderness. The barrows themselves feature new challenges and monsters hidden within the earthen mounds, so be prepared for a hard fight. All of the barrows equipment requires a minimum of level 70 to equip, and can be considered as rare. See the new Equipment sets page in the combat section of our manual for more information. Where are they located? The Barrows are located east of Mor'ton and south of Canafis. Watch out for Ghasts, I would bring pouches if I were you. ![]() Here is what I had in my inventory. The only thing you ABSOLUTELY need is food and a spade. ![]() Here is my equipment. ![]() !IMPORTANT! Prayer is constantly drained, so be ready with prayer pots if you are using them. ******************************************************************* The purpose of Barrow Hunting is to obtain, rare and mysterious weapons. from Warriors infected with Dark Magic. You will see mounds of raised earth (picture coming soon) in the area. Dig on top of these mounds to fall into a crypt. Search the tomb to do battle with 1 of the 6 Guardians. Here are the six Barrow's names and some facts about them. ![]() Karil the Tainted 98 Ranger. More to info to come. ![]() Torag the Corrupted 115 Details Coming soon. ![]() Verac the Defiled 115 Details coming soon. ![]() Ahrim 98 Mage that uses Fire Waves. Use protect from age always! Other 3 coming as soon as I get pictures. ******************************************************** Now, when you search a random tomb, you'll be prompted to enter a tunnels. ENTER THEM. These lead to the treasure. When in the tunnels your objective is to find a chest. Like so. But before you enter the room with the chest, you'll be prompted with a simple thats a simple puzzle you must solve. Solve it quickly as you're likely to be attacked by monsters. Pictures of the puzzles coming soon. There are various ones. ![]() Now what you get in chest STRONGLY depends on your kill count. If you kill all 6 Barrows, this supposedly also increases the prize. Kills can be obtained by killing the Barrows and killing the monsters in the crypt tunnels. ![]() Once you open the chest and get the reward the tomb begins to crumble. You have two choices at this point. Teleport out or find your way back to the ladder you came down. And start all over. Puzzle Solutions I circled the answers in Red. These are only two I know of for now. ![]() ![]() Equipment Obtained This is all the equipment that can be obtained from the treasure. Karil's Crossbow Requires special kinds of Bolts. You can see the rack in the picture with the chest. (I will move a seperate pic down here later). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Frequently Asked Questions Q: Do I keep my kill count when I log out/leave the area? A: Yes you do! So you can come back on various trips to get godly kill counts. This guide is nowhere near complete, but it's good for a start. |

I got a question now. If you search the tomb thing then get the tunnel and go through and run out of food and you want more food, can you leave the tunnel and get your supplies then dig and search the tomb again and get your tunnel or will you have to fight the pink guys again? |

I heard a rumor that the more kill counts you get, the better the reward in the chest... |
