I don't have any big issues with the way the client is now and all the tech talk went over my head.
But if they found a way to re-do it from scratch and the end product will not only look better, and more importantly run better.
Well hurry up now, you got me excited.

(not to excited..)
Think they stated they are aiming for end of 2015, which probably means, early 2016.

To put it simply, RuneScape has outgrown Java. Simple games like OSRS can run fine on Java, but RS3 needs more power than Java can provide.
