Initially when these came out I thought 'what's the point' so didn't bother, but did an about turn this week and started one on hardcore. Have to say I'm finding it fun to level (been a while) and try to work out how to get the most out of playing when keeping in mind I'll have to make everything for myself. Even found it fun to have to get everything, rather than buy them or get them given, to do the couple of quests I've done so far.

Also found I'm having to learn bits of the game again, especially where the shops are that sell useful equipment - all fun.

Money making is another issue mind you - looks like the only way forward I can see is to get to high alch - and will have to make my own nature runes.

Currently 419 levels - combat 26 - 326gp - 2 quests

Will try and keep a record weekly.

326gp, making bank!

On a serious note though, glad you're having fun and leveling. I guess it can be fun to be a noob again!

Congrats on the Comp cape. Yes, makes a difference training for a level that opens up something new rather than just heading for the 120 capes - which is slow going. I'll add you when I next get on Ironman account.

So you're going for the quest cape first, right? ;)

Ha, nearly made me choke reading that. Urgh, no. Died at to many in the past to fool myself in believing I can do that without dying unless I get a few decent combat stats.

Good luck!! I found it really fun when I started mine a few weeks ago. A little hint for early money-making, is to kill cows, tan the hide into hard leather boots, then sell them to the tanner in Burthrope. Not bad money for a beginner. Also, get a few mining levels, then do a star each day; you get 50k gp as well as some runes and gold ore when you hand in 200 dust. But most importantly... just have fun with it!!!!

Good luck to you, blethorskite. It'll be a lot of hard work, but it pays off in the sense of accomplishment you feel afterward. :)

Yes, so far it's been magic. Mainly because I'm trying to get that high enough to do high alchs.

But after doing some dungy found I'm going to have to get range and melee up as well as some bosses are proving almost impossible (leastwise taking me ages) to kill.

Doing dungy so that I can get a hold of the weapons from it. Then I can use those to do the gods.
