Post subject:  I quit.

Sorry if this is difficult to read:

Today I've officially quit RS. It took a huge chunk out of me. It hurts to cancel your membership and read the words "We are sorry bla bla bla" and to select the reason of Being bored of the game and/or being upset of an update(s). I look at Jagex as a company that's just after money but it hurts to leave them. Yet they've changed, I've become attached to them (not anymore, sorry guys). The game isn't what it used to be, Jagex isn't the same. They've ruined the game, it's a shame to leave it after playing since around the time of '06. I started playing at the young age of seven or eight. I'm one of the few that played RuneScape so long ago, at such a young age, and played until today. It's a shame. I have loved this game dearly and no matter what my friends thought of me, I continued to play. This game was a huge chunk of my life (110+ days of my life). It seems like a huge waste. Not because I wasted on that time on a video game specifically, but because I loved and cherished it so much only for the game to be ruined years later. Runescape has been redone and so has Jagex. They used to be a company that got in touch with the community every way possible and listened. Now they are corporate scumbags full of ignorance that just want money. And don't tell me to try and tell me to give EoC a shot because I have and I hate it. I like to play casually I don't like being super active in an MMORPG like WoW. And EoC wasn't just it, it was just the "last straw" of constant stupid updates, specifically SoF and SGS. I tried defending SGS at least but I can't do it anymore. Jagex of changed too much for me. The game is ruined. Doesn't anyone remember '06 and before. How a 99 was legendary to have? Now being maxed isn't even as impressive as a 99 once was. They've made he game too easy and simple, with stupid xp bonuses, and promotions. They've spoiled the players rotten. I always dreamed of making it big. Getting a party hat one day, with a giant house party with my entire full friends list there. But my journey ends now.

Runescape: The world's greatest most disappointing adventure

You have literally crushed thousands of childhoods by what you've done Jagex. And I bet you're reading this because you've recommended us to the RS community before. You should really listen to your players. All you've been doing is lying to youselves and ignoring us. Look at RS's population. LOOK AT A GRAPH it has been seriously declining since 2007, even when you bought free trade back, it wasn't enough. Hell, 90% of your popular video makers have quit, and you don't react? Do you think you can just replace them? No, you can't! You guys need to wake up and realize what your doing. Just remember that the combat system and PKing is what made RS famous, and you redid it and **** it over. You guys are literally retarded. I am seriously disappointed in you and you have betrayed us by the thousands. You should be disgusted. Goodbye Jagex.

Spoiler for More for Jagex:

And BTW You guys should be putting ALL of your effort into RS because as you've proven, you suck at making other games. FunOrb you abandonned which was your most impressive thing other than RS. iPhone games suck. And you're new Ace of Spades game is stupid. Looks like TF2 and MineCraft face **** and then a sad baby came out of their *******. You know your going downhill when you resort to making rip-offs and resorting to STEAM to sell your game. There you guys go again lying to yourselves. You know the game is going downhill. Although I must say Mod Mark. You have turned into a GREAT actor. Where's Andrew & Paul Gower and Mod MMG on micro payments? Did you tie them up and throw them in a locker? Seriously Jagex get your **** together. You're company will be dead soon.

Spoiler for Account info:

I'm am not handing out items just in case I come back. I cleared the majority of my bank but left around 100 of every herb, seeds, armour, etc. After clearing out I am left with 93M cash (and extra 7.5M in my kingdom which I left in) and with the remaining items I have (specifically the maple logs, and maple long"shield"bows (u) I fletched) I could reach a 100M bank, if the economy doesn't crash (further) until I come back on (if i EVER do). I specifically cleared out my bank because I figure the price of everything will crash further.

Goodbye. I wish things were different  (No I'm not quitting RSBandB, just RS)

I'm off to go play some TF2 (has a genuine community and Valve actually cares) and maybe some GTA IV (actually fun) and maybe I'll buy MineCraft sometime soon because a lot of my friends have it.

There is not one point in this that I agree with. Just because you are bored with RS does not mean it sucks. You are sounding like a typical member of the RS community.

There is one thing i'm certain of and it is that this game will go on without you. I can't hate Jagex for attempting to evolve their game and mainstream it with the rest of the gaming community. At the end of the day Jagex is a company and money is the goal, i'm sorry that a beloved childhood game of yours was ruined by money grabbing businessmen. If this process truly bothers you this bad to quit i game you love i hope you never fall in love with another object in this modern world for you will find out that it will soon it isn't about loving community but more about money.

I'm not necessarily bored with it. I do actually think it sucks now and I'm fed up with Jagex.

EDIT: And if what I wrote sounds like the typical member of the RS community, then maybe there's a problem.

As I just joined this community, I cannot say that I have known you, but I do wish for your best as you now leave the game of Runescape. It's a tough decision as I know many have tried but they usually come back to the game through boredom and addiction. Since you will be staying on the forums, I hope to get to know you!

In regards to the game changing, it's just to appeal to other people that have not started playing Runescape. This is just an attempt to make Runescape more modern in the MMORPG sense. Hopefully they do make changes that allow for the older players to keep our ways of playing the game more based on our past. I don't see myself leaving the game anytime soon as I feel I have not finished what I have started on the game.

I think your frustrations are warranted and I agree the game has changed quite a bit...perhaps not so much for the better. I think leaving the game is probably a good idea...for anyone, not just you. It does take a lot of time and, with membership, that is money going out the door. I'm sure you'll find equal or greater enjoyment in whatever else occupies your time.

Really every company is after money but Jagex have just reached a certain point were it has ruined the game for me (if you ask me, that's going pretty **** far to make someone actually quit, mainly for issues based on microtransactions, usually that shouldn't make someone quit, because we see it in almost all games).

Thanks for the reply, I look forward to seeing you on the forums too. I will be on RS every here and there mainly for holiday events. I don't thinking boredom and addiction are an issue considering RS was getting kind of dull for me, and I feel a lot less pressure to play now.

Thanks, I have plenty of games on my plate ATM. And school is beginning to get in my way, maybe if I get really bored in the summer.
