Post subject: | Soloing Dungeoneering |
Ok, so I have decided to give Dungeoneering a go. I went and joined a few parties and let them know i was inexperienced. The abuse and such from the teams i was in was ridiculous, so I didnt join a third time. I have been doing rooms solo, but I find it is pretty slow and the tokens and xp rate for 45minutes to an hour per dungeon is incredibly weak. Does anyone have any idea where I can find a good guide to soloing dungeons? I am at room 19 now and doing complexity 6, but finding I am only getting around 2 - 2.5K xp. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks and Happy Runescaping. Pyrn |

Hi Pyrn, I know what you mean about the abuse when in teams. Happens mainly when going into dungeoneering worlds and joining random teams. Dungeoneering clans are supposed to be better, so that might be an option. Though nearly all of those usually require high level combat, Dungeoneering and good equipment. There is one or two, whose names I can't remember, who skill the floors and take longer with a much more relaxed attitude - check out RS forums for these. As far as soloing goes you have to accept you just wont get the points you would if in a team of 5 and that doing a floor will take longer. For now just stick to small floors. crash through all but the last five (that is do them at complexity 1, or complexity 2 if you want to get a good bit of fishing xp to compensate for the meagre dungeoneering points you'll be getting). There is some discussion about this changing in the future but nothing has come of this yet. Do the last five floors on complexity 6. Then reset and go through again until you get to level 50. From that point on crash floors 1-19 and do floors 20-25 small complexity 6, and any above that have a go at medium, as you'll be more experienced by then. If at any point after level 50 you get a shadow silk hood keep that as one of your binds. Makes Soloing much easier. Any of the guides in say tipit or Runescape Wiki will help to get a better understanding of the way to approach dungeoneering in general. When dungeoneering came out I basically stopped playing for most of a year, I disliked it so much, but I've gotten into it a bit now and I've rarely bothered with a team and have done solo or with one or two friends, mostly with just one other. I prefer to have fun, if slower xp. If you can find at least one player to do some floors with to get used to how things work that would be an advantage. Happy for you to PM me in game and go through some floors with you. |

Thanks for your help Bleth. I have done a bit of Dungeoneering duo with a friend, but she doesn't get on at the same time I do much anymore. I will try your suggested method of rushing the early rooms and only doing C6 for the last 5. I am at room 20 now, so when I reset I will do that. Unfortunately most of the guides i have read concentrate on teams and not soloing. I actually don't mind dungeoneering as bit of break from general skills, I would just like to get a few more tokens to buy a few things, lol. Anyway, wish me luck... hopefully it will increase as rooms. |

Jagex I'm sure have confirmed that they will be working sometime in the future to reward players more who choose to solo dungeons. Obviously teams will still be better. Just keep going at it, eventually you will get better, unlock new floors and yeah ![]() |

Solo and group Dungeoneering share the same concepts. Due to the nature of Dungeoneering, it's difficult to concentrate everything into a guide. Regarding the amount of xp you're getting for each floor, make sure that you reset your floors every time the 'Current Progress' on the party equals the highest floor you can do. |

To be honest, I find Dungeoneering to be much more enjoyable in a group. Thats why I hate C1's. |
