Post subject:  Idea to Stop Botting
Instead of banning people for botting, Jagex should be removing their ability to use the squeal of fortune. This will take all enjoyment out of the game while still allowing them to play- therefore less people will bot.

I haven't played for about two years so you'll have to excuse me while i get caught up to speed playing again. What is the "squeal of fortune" and its importance to the game? Secondly, how bad is the botting problem still, i was fishing today and noticed quite a few level 3's fishing but just assumed they were skilling or noobs as being on a F2P world.

Or they can just take away the scammy wheel of fortune for everybody and return the game to its pre-artardization faze?

The Squeal of Fortune is basically Jagex solution to gambling and their own form of RWT. Everyday you get spins for free and you can earn extra spins in game through various ways. You even get 2 spins for completion of every quest. You can also buy spin packages. The rewards are ok at best, but even the best items aren't tradeable or sellable. Check it out on the wiki for better details.

Ya, the botting problem is still there. The bot nuke helped, but bots have slowly recovered. Most the level 3's you are seeing are in fact bots (if you look at the name and their patterns, it's easy to tell). There are still a lot of them and they still affect the economy pretty heavily.

I think they should make squeal spins tickets the new currency too to stop real world trading via 3rd parties.

Please explain to me how this would help? I don't really see the purpose... It feels to me like bots don't bot because of the SOF, but because of the other benefits (blue drags for hides/bones to sell to gold sites for $ IRL)...

Lol, i got on fine without the Squel of Fortune before it came out, so taking that away will probably not stop botters... unfortunatly
