Well, of course they are going to say what sounds good. Not discounting anything they are saying, we need to watch the game first. If the economy starts to balance, then I think it will be safe to say that their efforts are successful. I'm glad they are connecting with the players and personally addressing the questions, but if things are going to change, its going to come from action, not words. Keep working at it Jagex. I'll believe it when I see it.

No doubt this is the biggest step in the right direction in a very long time, I hope they manage to keep the bots down.

I am so happy to see that this was done at Runefest and that it was recorded and put online. A raw, straight-forward sitdown with Mods taking questions from the player audience makes a very powerful statement from a business sense that they are working on the bots and have nothing to hide. This is fantastic and I hope they post a few more.

What a load of balls. So cluster fluck or whatever stupid name there calling it is obvious just a bunch of fixes released at once as a "cluster". Stop beating around the bush and come out and say it. So that'll stop the bots for 2 weeks instead of 1 week. Keep slapping yourselves on the back jagex.

Also you banned 7.7 million users or whatever? Did i hear that right? *******. Unless there inactive accounts you don't have 7 million active users. I doubt you have a million active.

And your theory that banning/rolling back doesn't solve the issue? Perhaps not but it's called justice. It's called not de-valuing your game by allowing cheats a free ride. You allow them to do it and then break there method. They come back in 2 weeks and continue doing it with a new method. Unpunished. That ***** me off. Or would do if i still played this terrible game. Why I'm talking about de-valuing it when you give out triple exp i don't know though.

i have a feeling that banning 7 mil is a little exaggerated.

but i think it is a little creepy to have the thumbnail as an old man with maybe his wife right next to him.

You all are so cynical. Celebrate even the small victories, friends.

Exactly! That's like saying something to the effect of "we could have done better, we didn't liberate France even though we got our beach head at Normandy."

The change is definitely noticeable and a welcome change to the game after all we've been seeing this year. You have to believe what they say since:
- At the very beginning Mark Gerhard seems very genuine.
- Bots hurt them when they ban them eventually.
- Bot count has gone down dramatically since Oct 25.

It's something MMG feels passionately about. If I understood correctly what some of the Jmods said in the quiet chats is that the board of directors didnt not really know about the cluster flutterer for fear that they might veto the decision because of the loss of membership subs. We had a good chat at RuneFest, my faith in his lead has been restored.

The CF is a different approach to combatting botters, you'll notice that the bot makers have come up with excuse after excuse for the delays. This isnt like the old days where bots were back up in a matter of hours. Botters have been winning the war for years and now Jagex are fighting back!

Oh and Shane... MMG hates farming. He said it during the '99@Runefest' session hehe :P

XD

I wonder if there was any talk about farming updates at Runefest. From everything I've seen on Youtube it doesn't look like it. :(

I think you're probably mistaken. I'm no expert but I'm fairly sure if you lie to your board of directors or keep them in the dark on matters like this they'l...**** YOU SHANE. **** YOU AND YOUR STUPID **** VOICE THING ON THE FORUMS. **** OFF. I'M NOT **** VISTING THIS SITE AGIAN. ****. YOU MADE ME SCREAM. **** HELL. I WAS JUST GOING TO THE BATHROOM AFTER THIS NOW I NEED NOT BOTHER.

....they'll quickly find themselves fired. And if they think you've cost the business money or done something not in the best interest of the shareholders they'll take you to court over it instead. Again I'm no expert!

You've been playing just as long as me. You've heard this stuff a million times just like me. Theres no reason to think this will be any different. The last set of lies they came up with was removing random events and bringing back free trade cause they feel they can "handle" the bot situation. They couldn't.

I'm negative because i don't think there fighting back i think there in full damage control over there past screw ups. Also i hate you.

Very happy with the current lack of bots and hope that the determination they've shown, not only here but in the forums, will help keep the bots at bay. I just wish this hadn't happened so close to Runefest as it feels like a PR stunt.
