Post subject:  What skill do you want to change?

Since Jagex is updating skills that haven't had any updates in quite some time, I was wondering which skill needs an update. What skill do you want to change and what would you add to it?

I saw a very good suggestion on the forums the other day about smithing. It was about armor and weapons that could degrade in a period of time (In fact all we have now would be the degraded version). With a high enough smithing level you could sharpen your weapons and remove the dents in your armor. Giving it better stats untill it degrades again. I think that would be a really nice addition to the smithing skill.

Or an addition where you can melt weapons and armors back into bars. Though you shouldn't be able to get 1 bar out of a rune dagger. I was thinking of a an item that requires 2 bars will give 1 bar. So you'd need to smelt 2 daggers to get 1 bar. Or you can smelt a longsword and get 1 bar.

But what do you want to see changed?

i dont like the idea of that for smithing... because it will runescape seem more like a world of warcraft rip off.... i personally would like to see more go into defense like actually not get hit more often if u got 80 def with rune compared to 40 def with rune...

Prayer could get some more bones to bury and use on an alter, Magic could get some more new spells that are under the Lunar and Ancients Spellbooks, Runecrafting could get some new Runes (which could be used with the new spells for magic), Farming could get some higher level seeds and maybe another minigame, and finally construction could get some new rooms (or add new things to the current rooms there are).

Firemaking could really use an improvement, it's pretty useless skill as it is. or maybe fletching to make it harder to get 99 in :P

well, fletching more is really easy to get 99 on I think, becasue it isn't expensive(if you use maple long method)I think.

But I really don't know what the xp per bow is but w/e. :D .

Magic, as they have been adding updates to it they only effect it by about 2-5 hits. At 99 you would expect higher than 35 for a max. While I understand that you can multi-hit people, that is pretty expensive so not to many people do that.

I would like them to update HP, I know it would be weird but (Ughh) "Constitution" Seems like you should be able to weild stuff like a certain bow needs 75 const and a certain sword needs 60 const, see what I mean?

Agility should make your character run/walk faster but that will never happen
Prayer should be trained by offering something other than bones, carcasses or something but that will never happen
Firemaking should either be removed or revised into something like arson or explosives-making but that will never happen
Cooking should require more elaborate dishes but that will never happen
Hunting should introduce more tracking and less waiting by nets/boxes but that will never happen
Crafting should involve Popsicle sticks but that will never happen
Summoning should have permanent followers that are actual useful but that will never happen
Ivy should be nerfed but that will never happen

magic should be updated because it has much lower hits than melee or range
and firemaking should be more useful

I agree on the firemaking. They need to make that skill much more useful. I think any of the harder skills like RC and Prayer could be improved, too.

Yes, firemaking definitely needs an update, but i'm not really sure what they could do with it?

At certain firemaking levels, you can light certain types of lamps/torches that will have a certain radius of light. Then, with the new addition of dark caves (completely pitch black caves unless you have a lamp/torch), you can use those lamps/torches to explore them. Unless they have that already, I have no idea.

Summoning. I'd prefer it if they removed it all together and pretended it never existed. It's single handedly the worst skill in the game. It's badly designed, cookie cuttered and is simply a horrible mess of a steaming ****.

It's the ONLY skill that *forces* you to train another in order to level it.

Shards are the most moronic things in the game and are PURELY put in there as a money sink no matter how further it gimps the skill. Heres a tip jagex; Sort the mess you created out another way don't shove it in sideways and act like it fits.

The monsters being on a timer is irritating and if they had thought **** through from the start (which, going by what a horrible mess this skill is they didn't) they could of released it without a timer. If i summon up a beast i want it there perminantly till i choose to unsummon it. I'm already covering my hit points, my prayer, my run energy I don't want to juggle my monster popping off for a snooze.

I can go on for hours about how idiotic this skill is. So scrap it. Throw it away. Higher me and I'll create a better version. The only decent thing about it is getting a dragon at the end; that is awesome.

If i was to redo it I think I'd pretty much rip off pokemon and add my own twist. Which is what jagex should of done in the first place. You'd have to collect up key ingrediants (say a mixture of fruit and veg, harder to get stuff the higher lvl you get) in order to attract whatever beast you was after these beasts are found in areas all over rs and you attract them out with the ingrediants.

Say i dunno a cow a chicken and a sheep all like cheese. You lay the cheese out and see what you attract. A chicken being the most common and the one you're likely to stumble upon, a cow being mildly common and a sheep being rare.

So you get a chicken come along and then you fight it if you beat it you can opt to take it at which point it'll just sit in your bag like a pet does now . Anywho you get exp for capturing them, this exp gets lesser and lesser the more of them you capture till it levels out at a certain fixxed amount.

By the high end you could be attracting say a blue, red and black dragon. The black being the most powerful but also being incredibly rare. Obviously the power gap between blue and black is significant enough to make players want to get the black over the common blue. And obviously to lure these out you need something extreme like a rune bar (off the top of my head!) so it's expensive but getting the black is going to help you out long term.

Obviously the rewards and benefits need to be figured out and I'd be leaning towards if your monster died it was gone for good rather than being able to summon it indefinitly. But there certainly wouldn't be any ******* timer and you could heal them up with food like you would anyone else.

Now maybe I'm delusional but my brilliant idea is a million times better than collecting up **** charms then walking to the middle of no where to ubuy ******* over priced shards to get a useless little monster thats going to **** off in half an hour.
