Yeah I've made my inevitable return, i seem to jump between wow and rs. Anywho I've been out the scene for a little over a year now i think. Just making this topic cause i have a few questions and It beats reading through a years worth of news on the RS site. Um so questions I've seen two event things..that seem like random events but are..group ones. One was an evil tree, which i ignored (what does it do?) and i saw a crashed meteor today in the wilderness with people mining it..i joined in on that one so i know what it does..but what are they? And are there more of them? Other than that whats new, what are the bigger updates that have come along? I don't care about PVP so you can ignore updates involving that tbh, I mean any new important quests, mini games, just stuff that's useful to know. Thank youu lads n lasses |

The evil tree appears every 2 hours or so, the spirit tree can tell you where it's going to appear and it'll teleport you to it when it does appear. Bring an axe and a tinderbox, cut the roots and then light the kindling (from the roots). This will give you some firemaking experience and will raise you reward percentage over time. Once you have some fires lit cut the tree itself until its dead. This will alsp raise your reward percentage. The rewards include gp, logs, birds' nests, half keys and also a 6-30minutes of automatic banking of certain logs when your inventory is full. |

The crashed meteor you spotted is a shooting star. From what I understand, you have to use a telescope in someone's house to determine where it will land or go the observatory, south of Ardougne. When you know where a shooting star is going to land, you can head there and try to mine your way through the outer layers to free the star sprite and get your reward. If you are the first person to attempt to mine it, you will be rewarded with a hefty chunk of Mining experience (there is no Mining level requirement to claim this bonus). Shooting stars come in a variety of sizes, and the larger they are the harder the outer layers will be. An exceptionally large star can have as many as nine layers, while very small stars will only have one or two. Because of the remarkable hardness of a large star, only the most experienced miners will be able to penetrate its shell until the more brittle layers are exposed. You can find out how large and hard a star is by prospecting it. Star sprites, being magical creatures, are capable of using the stardust you gather from their homes to create objects and items, and are more than happy to do so. To claim your reward, simply chat to the star sprite while it stands around in the remains of its star. Note that you can only claim a reward once per day, so you might like to hold onto your stardust until you have some more (up to the maximum of 200). But you only get a reward for once per day. |

they are merely distractions and diversions minor ways to train set skillz in a decent manor other than powertraining. others include the circus (agility, magic, ranged) that moves every wednesday gmt and the penguins (choice of skill) that reset also gmt wednesday. while they are decent xp they tend to limit how often you can repeat them for the other rewards. |

Oh you'll grow bored of the content in 1 month. What you were talking about is the new D&D as explained by the above posters, their only purpose is free exp that's about it. If you talk high level content, there barely have been any updates, I only recall "While Guthix Sleeps" a quest that opens up a new monster, Tormented Demons, which can attack in three styles, with a special combo attack that hits twice. Very dangerous, but you get the new "super dragon dagger" the Dragon Claws from them. Goes for 27m~ in GE. There's also a new Pest Control style combat minigame. What do I mean? I mean free combat exp. So the Soul Wars products are shunned upon Pest Control products who are shunned by RS2 Products who are shunned by RSC players. Of course theres the new over 9000 mid-level quests that nobody really gives a **** about, you can now Pray-X at the POH altars, I can't recall anything else other than that. Oh yea there was a glitch in the PVP worlds but was fixed recently, but since you don't care I won't elaborate. |
