Post subject:  The fail that is the Summoning emote
After wednesdays update we got a hidden one which changed the summoning emote which makes a very horrible emote to perform. Im ashamed and embrassed to do the emote now lol.. It's a shame because imo it was my favorite emote.

What do you think about this change and do you think they should've changed it the way they did?

I agree with Tim here... I can't tell the difference between the two but I do agree that they should have made the emote cooler than that.

From what i saw i think they changed the colors a little bit it's kind of hard to tell.

It still looks the same. If they did change it, it still looks pretty good. Personally, I'd be happy with any emote (along with the 99 skill :P ).

Ya I don't think there is a major change to the capes, only the colour I guess. Not a major difference to me, but I guess it affects alot to people with 99 Summoning?

lol that is because the video you posted for us isn't the new summoning emote it is the old. As I said they took away the glowing aura around the avatars and also the unicorn avatar head. all that's left is the newb ones.

The emote was changed in response to a glitch.

Basically, due to the complexity of the emote and the amount of polygons it used, it clashed with many other items of clothing and made the player invisible. So, to stop this, the emote had to be simplified.

It's not necessarily a permanent change, it just can't go back to the way it was before. If you've got any ideas that aren't poly-tastic, we will most certainly take them into consideration.

Then it looks like Jagex are willing to change it again, but only if they get good suggestions from the players. When Mod Emilee talked about it being invisible, does she mean doing the cape emote or just wearing it? Anyways, good luck with your cape :wink: .

the player would become invisible when performing the emote. I've noticed it all the time. It didn't happen everytime. What's weird is sometimes ppl would not see me invisible at all when I did and other times They'd see me invisible and I wouldn't see the glitch at all O_o.. but yeh I hope it gets changed again.. thieving/slayer is bad enough don't need a 3rd bad emote :p

Kyle, you can always ask why they got rid of it. Maybe start a petition to get that part back, but honestly, it wouldn't look any different. A cape of achievement is a cape of achievement, you should be happy that you have the summoning cape and not try to make Jagex change it so that you like it.
