Any 99 is a 99 and is worthy of praise, but some are less admirable than others. To me, these include the Cooking, Fletching, and to an extent Firemaking. These skills are way to easy to buy, meaning you don't have to work that hard to obtain them; patience and lots of clicking is all you need. Also, there are skills that are near impossible to get 99 on. Cooking is way too easy nowadays because of the Cook-X option. If Skill Capes existed back in RSC, then a Cooking Cape would be a rarer sight, and very honorable, in my opinion. Fletching, in which prices have been lowered due to autoers, is now easier than ever to buy. Just click a few times and your guy (or gal) fletches away worry free, while you go about doing whatever else. Way too easy, in my opinion. Firemaking; it may have a cool emote, but it's easy to buy as well. It takes a bit more, because you can't really do much multi-tasking whilst firemaking. It requires concentration to keep a steady experience-flow. But still, much too easy to buy. What about the other Capes? Everyone nowadays is going for these 3 capes mainly. I see them way too often. Their emote has lost it's glamour. Wow, you can fletch a bow in 5 seconds flat.. So can thousands of other people. Oh, you can flip a pie? Yep, so can thousands of others. I'd like to see more originality from people nowadays in obtaining a 99 in a skill. Yea, it's still cool to have a 99 in anything, but think of something else besides these I've mentioned. How often do you see a "99 Herblore" thread, or even a "99 Runecrafting" thread? Not often at all. So my question is: What do you think the least admirable Skill Cape would be? Do you think any of them are overrated? How about the most respected? Share, elaborate, flame, praise. Whatever. Note: I am not disrespecting skill capes, I dont have any, so any cape is better than I could do |

I think it all depends on how you go about getting the 99. If you 'buy the lvl' then it's not going to be as respectable. However, The Xbox Legacy has been going for 99 fletching for awhile now, and he's wcing all of his magic logs to use for fletching. Now that takes a lot of time, patience, and work so I believe that's really respectable. So yeah, I guess it just depends on if you 'buy the lvl' or not. |

Cooking, fletching, and the three melee stats are the least imo. Cooking and fletching for the obvious reasons other people will state, and melee because so many people just sit in Pest Control for a month or two and get 99 in all three. The melee stats would be much more respectable if everyone got them the old fashioned way. |

I think that thats a valid point, but if someone say legacy without talking to him for a while, they would see "just another fletching cape" I think its a good accomplishment for cutting your own logs |

To me it just depends how much work you put into the cape ... most skills can be half bought (exclude fishing/mining/woodcutting) but that means they can be brought up from materials you collect too. Granted I might spend an eternity achieving 99 in the skill, but I know it's worth it. Other capes I have .. cooking came from all the shark obtained for 99 fishing, firemaking came from the logs I got from 99 wc. Too bad everyone'll just see it as a nooby cape ... oh well, I know what I did to get it, that's all that matters to me. |

I guess I would have to say Cook, Fletch, and Thieving. My friend started thieving less than a month ago from about 60 and is already at 93 or something all from Pyramid Plunder. That's just a little too easy imo. Just because a skill is bought doesn't mean its not respectable. It's the fact that everyone has it. Construction can be bought but its a lot more expensive and a lot less people have it hence why its respected a lot more. I'm currently going for 91 rc and im debating on whether I should pursue 99 later down the road... ![]() |

Cooking Fletching Prayer Strength Attack Firemaking Woodcutting Fishing ~Defence/HP Those are the capes I'm most likely to think less of, mainly because of how many people have them. I really don't care how the 99 was obtained, my first impression will most likely be you're a noob who thinks you're great if you have an untrimmed fletching, until you prove me wrong (not like say "Hey I got this cape by ___" to everyone you meet, just general personality). :$ It's a really horrible way to judge people, but I guess it just comes from the majority who wear them being noobs. Capes I like to see, though: Runecrafting Construction Smithing Herblore Crafting Mining To narrow it down to one least and one most, it would be strength as the least respectable, and construction for the most respectable for me. Although construction is one of those skills that gold buyers like >_<. |

Although it takes a long time, you only need to spend 15-30 minutes a day to get up to over 100k exp a run with the higher level trees ![]() Most respectable cape.... I don't know. They are all respectable in their own way ![]() Hells Sponge wrote: I'd like to see more originality from people nowadays in obtaining a 99 in a skill. Least respected for me are Fletching (one I have myself) and cooking. I think slayer is a worthy cape. It takes a lot of effort to get one. Doesn't look much though. And for the moment Summoning is one I think is worth a bit of respect. |
