Contains low-level spoilers.

Betrayal at Falador. The first novel to be released through the Jagex Store. So, you may say: "This is a horrible idea". Or "To think that you don't even give a history of the author is proabably because this is a bad book."

To tell you the truth, this book was great. When it comes to RuneScape, you may think that anything is possible with runes, food, energy (running, and other useful equipment. It isn't like that in this book. Food does not heal you, and you don't respawn at Falador, Lumbridge, or Camelot. Running is in the game, but RuneScape is actually huge. The book makes it out to be continents. As for runes, well there is very few mages in the game, and runes are becoming extinct. Which means the whole part of the RuneScape you know is fairly whacked.

So shall I get the bad part of the book? The chapters are way too short and they have to be rushed in order to get to the next point of view. There is a maximum of about 5 point of views at a time. The traitor, the Kinshra (the black knights), the Knights of Falador, some interesting people in Falador, and a monster in the distant east of Falador. There is 82 chapters in which hold all of the points of views. Sometimes each of the point of views merge, and later on duplicate again.

Some of the chapters have a cliff hanger at the end of the chapter to make you keep reading. Unfortunately, in order to get on, you have to read one or two views of the people in order to get back to the one you want.

The plot is quite huge, with traveling, talking, fighting, searching, and hunting. Oh did I mention that the Kinshra use GUNS? Yes, the book makes it out to be using more of today's technology, but they are the older kind of guns. I doubt there were any Ak-47's or usp's.

Anyway, I wasn't meant to be a great writer, and I probably never will be. Since I am likely the only one finished with the book (on BnB), I had to write a review. I do suggest this book to be read. I hope if you do take my advice, you enjoy the book.

Huh. I wonder if this will come out in any bookstores, I can't see myself buying anything over the internet until I have a credit card (my parent is a technophobe and is against credit card numbers online).
I'll probably buy it if it does indeed come out in bookstores in southern ontario.

Edit: how long is the book? are the chapters like 2 pages long or something or is it a decent size?(400+ pages)

The page text is slightly bigger than Eragon if you have read it. It is about 3-4 pages each chapter, 82 chapters, and 402 pages long.

What would you rate this book. I mean, is there violence, or is it more suited for a 10 year old?

I doubt a 10 year old would know the vocabulary. I didn't even know all of it. Hmm... What would you say of them cooking and eating human meat? (This was one slight part of the book) I don't think a 10 year old would be fond of that.

I give it a 8.0/10.0.

Tbh, my voice stutters a ton when I read. So unless you like very slow talking, (i guess I could speed it up?) that's gonna be a very small chance. :P

I got it on release, but I haven't gotten round to reading it yet, I'm still reading "Moab is my washpot" by Stephen Fry.
