Post subject: | Crafting and firemaking improvements |
After how the last firemaking improvement thread ended up, it gave me an idea... I was thinking "what else is an underpowered skill" when I remembered crafting. Crafting is also in a pretty desperate need of an update too.So I had the idea that you could carve god smbols out of wood and burn them for exp. If you burn a zamorak one it pleases saradomin, If you burn a saradomin symbol it pleases zamorak, thus giving you prayer xp. The higher level log it is the more prayer exp you get too.You make the symbols by using a chisel with logs. For each symbol you carve you get crafting exp. (normal logs 50xp, oak logs 100xp, willow logs 150xp and so on) You than get a relative amount of firemaking xp from burning these symbols too. ( a normal symbol 50xp, an oak symbol 100xp, a willow symbol 150xp ect.) You would then get some prayer exp from that, but not to overpower the xp it would be 15 more xp depending on the log. ( normal symbol 15xp, oak symbol 30xp, willow symbol 45 prayer xp ect). The minimum level to make symbols would be 10, 15, 20, and so on. But since I do not know crap about the rs gods You guys can suggest other rivalries as I know that just crafting zamorak symbols over and over again would get very boring. |

Nice idea though I don't agree with everything. First of all Crafting isn't a skill that needs improvement. Second the amount of experience is to much. But the idea is nice. |

well it sounds good, but when you get to the fifth log, somewhere along eucalyptus or arctic pine i believe, then you start getting 75xp, beating out dragon bones, which may or may not be a good thing Also, this would be just another thing to do with the logs that you would have in your bank, I have had the difficulty in whether or not to use my logs for fletching, but when you have 3 skills that involve using the logs, then it would push fletching out of tthe way If the burning of the symbol gives firemaking xp, then it shouldnt be too much more than what the normal logs would give, because if it became the new "maple log" of firemaking xp, then burning normal logs could be shoved into the back of everyone's mind Overall, its a very nice idea, i like it alot, and one more question: Would the crafted symbols be tradeable? |

It could start out at 10 prayer exp, and you could add 10 each time, oak = 20 willow = 30 maple = 40 mahogany = 50 yew = 60 and magic symbols could give you 70 prayer exp. The symbols would be tradeable so that you would not need a high craftin level, and firemaking level to use these. It would not be fletching because as seen here ---> [wikipedia=]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletching[/wikipedia] <----here fletching is the art of making arrows, not making ANYTHING out of wood. Whereas crafting is the art of carving wood, cutting gems, and so on. The firemaking and craftin exp could be lowered a bit too. they could each start at 50, but go up by 30 depending on the type of log or symbol. Another thing is that if you burn say... 1000 saradomin symbols you would get some boots of zamorak witch would give + 3 to all attack stats and saradomin boots would give +3 to all defence sats, like the completed prayer books but as a weaker version. The rewards would be tradeable and could only be reovered by burning 1000 more. The items people get would not be extrordinarily good but would just be something nice. |

It would be interesting but there needs to be a reason to do it since most people will just continue to use gilded alters or ecto. |

You can do it at a bank booth without all the running around. |

the only issue i can see now(and im not looking too hard) is that it would become the best way to do it, and the fastest for pray xp, combining ecto xp and gilded speed This would become the front-runner and almost nobody would do the gilded or the ecto Though if the crafting lv was high enough, then it would become mostly a buyable way, not as much of training crafting also If this was the case, then it would become the pray training for the extremely rich Which is good ![]() |

i aslo think it a not bad idea but .. your log give wa to much crafting xp .. it would cost nothing getting 99 crafting and i don't want it to becose easy.. cos i worked hard too we.. 150xp for willow is way too cheap tho |
