Well, I know many of us on RSBandB own rare items. I myself own a Green H'ween Mask. Well, I bought mine a few months ago for 21M. A great deal I thought at the time. But the prices now are going rock bottom. Do you think the mask prcies will go down with time, or do you think they hit the lowest they will go?? What are the underlying causes of this? I feel it is the GC. Also, are you selling your rare, or buying more? I am currently hanging onto the Green Mask, and I am considering buying another rare. |

I think that the prices will go up. They only appear to be going down now as the price is a more realistic figure than before when the prices were brought up every day or so by the merchants trying to selling them, even if people weren't buying. It gave a false sense of rarity because of this. I have a mask set. They've been the lowest I can ever remember them being tbh, but they'll rise up over time. People will quit and keep the rares on their account meaning less are in circulation. But I could be wrong. |

Rares were actually items lots of merchants wanted to have to merchant with. That was one of the factors that made the prices rising. Now with the grand exchange all the merchanters are dead now. At least that's what I think. |

In terms of supply and demand, there's many supply, but little to no demand. I have friends who are stuck with their yellow phats, unable to get rid of it. |

Also it's very hard to trade rares for items these days because of the little differences you may have in value. And since not many people have those amounts of money in cash... |

Who knows what is going to happen to prices. I'm guessing a drop short term, but back up later. The drop due to those quitting the game and unloading them. In the long run, I think they are better to hold than gc. As for me, I have 2 of each color h'ween mask and 6 santa hats. |

I've sold my mask although I would of sold it when it was around 22M anyways if my account wasn't banned. Knowing Jagex's position on the rares, I believe they've interfered somehow. Well, obvious that they've interfered with the party hat rares, the prices are fixed and haven't changed since the exchange was released. May be them bringing the prices of the mask rares and santas to a value where it would be safer to make them untradeable or release a shop that sells them unlimited for a small amount of GP. They will continue to go down, unless Jagex has not interfered with mask rares. There will never be anymore of these items but there will always be more people. Perhaps if nobody wants them anymore but I don't see this day happening without Jagex aiding it. |

My theory is that many people who used to enjoy Runescape and had enough money for rares have quit due to the barrage of crap updates. Eventually rares will hit a low and start going back up. Give the economy time to recover from Jagex's painful blow. |

I had green masks at 20M before GE and as soon as GE came out, I managed to sell them at 17M each, a risk that kinda paid off considering the prices now. I think the prices will increase but slowly. |

I believe that they will hit a bottom then they will start to rise again. |

Some things are going up. Take coal and dragon bones for instance. I think the excess inventories have been worked through. I'll bet pots start to go up soon too. |

Dont forget the dueling update, many duelers staked rares, and since you can only stake 3k... |

I'm keeping most of my rares in the hope they'll go back up sometime. I sometimes sell a few santas when they're raising but most of the time I buy them back when they go back lower... I don't feel like losing too much money right now lol |

Hopefully Jagex will follow through with the database update. That way, we can get a better idea on the price changes and trends. |
