I would say its due to nature runes dropping and also flax/bowstrings raising since the update that meant that flax plants dissappeared.

even the 300 gp rate is gone. now you can buy yews for 200 to 250 ea.

Yews were never 500 ea...Natures went up, and since 60 wc is something most Rs players have, its easy to get yews now. Yews went for 325 ea at most, never more than that.

Its supply and demand, since more people want natures, the nature prices go up, and tha whole flax thing made bow strings go up also

It was planned more or less by jagex, due to the flax thingy

no the reason the price of yews went so crazy was when f2p'ers were allowed to cut them. then all the sudden the supply and demand was shifting (more supply than demand) lowering the prices

f2p has been able to cut yews since Rs2 came out, im sure thats not the case, but your right about the supply and demand part

He's talking about F2P, F2P's prices did drop a lot..
Barely any members go to F2P to buy yews..
And one of the reason is too many ppl able to cut yews..
And not that many ppl able to fletch yews..
So the market is unbalanced..
Now, every F2P wants to get to 60 WC, cause they heard that they can sell for 250 eac..
60 WC, isn't that hard, in other words, easy to get to

Due to the new "Teleblock" spell, a lot of people have been trying for 85 magic through high alchemy, since it is of course the cheapest way to level the magic skill. Since the natures have risen to 400gp each now, through the demand, Yew longbows have to be bought for 350gp each, in order for the mage to not lose money high alchemying. As bow strings cost 100-150gp each, that leaves a price of 250-200gp each for the yew log, which is a bit low. In my opinion yew logs are at there all time low now, and the price will possibly increase when the demand for yew longbows goes down.
