It's hard for me to think of how huge summoning is going to have to be. Jagex has said various things like "Summoning will offer you a familiar for every occasion..." and etc. They keep on making refference to the fact that summoning will be helpful for every skill. This is amazing to me! This is not going to some small skill like firemaking, mining, or even runecrafting to an extent, it's going to be huge. This, in my mind anyway, could be the biggest most complex skill yet released by Jagex. What are your thoughts? |

I doubt it will get as complex as Construction. That's one huge skill. |

well if you look at the other amounts of time it took to make the other skills compared to summoning. Summoning is taking like twice as long to make, so ya it is going to be big. I hope it is worth it though ![]() |

Well, it's going into all the combat skills, hunter, and i'm not sure buti think it might have a weak relation with herblore. I'd say it's pretty vast... |

I Know that I'll enjoy summoning but I doubt it will turn out to be everything jagex said it would be. |

It was made pretty clear today by jagex (this info came out after I started the thread) that this will be the biggest skill so far. They also mentioned that because its so big they will be releasing in phases. The initial phase will be released next week. Then a whole new set of creatures will be added in February. This sounds huge. I'm thinking that this is going to really good. |

Yeah, but many of the familiars are probably going to be variations of the same thing, and probably have no use except one or two of them. Well, by no use I mean it wont be that useful, and no one will use it. Summon the woodpecker for 100K and he will cut you 3 extra yew logs an hour! *Stays summoned for a maximum of 80 minutes, has a 5 day recharge period. Don't forget to recharge your summoning points on one of the 4 inconveniently located summon-altars in RuneScape, or your creature will die if you run out. Drains as fast as prayer. Fun. |

Mmmm have you read the new devolopment diary? It sounds much more in depth that. Take for instance this quote "Each creature has unique Summoning requirements, special moves, abilities, distinct personalities and hidden chat options, so no one could possibly experience them all as they rise through the levels," says Mod Osborne" I'm casting my vote in favor of jagex this time. I really think that they have got a good thing going here.. |

They say similar things to that for every update. I doubt it will be like what they say it is. For example with another skill: Quote: Hundreds of new objects and large areas of the map will now be opened up to you to explore and lay in wait for these pesky varmints. ^From hunter- I can't think of more than 15 hunter items. Not close to hundreds. And hunter came with only 3 new areas, and they weren't exactly large. They also went on about many more animals to hunt there would be, and after it was released, most were just variations. Everything has the best use ever in Jagex's eyes. To the players, it's not good, and isn't used. Them saying it has a good use, doesn't make it true much. Didn't it take them three (?) updates to crossbows saying they were really good after each update just to get people to use them? |
