Ok well I sent a message to Jagex about recent updates, heres what I got back, coppied from the reply....

Quote:
Dear Player,

Thank you very much for writing in to us. We're receiving so many incoming messages at the moment that we've written this short message to help us answer you more quickly.

1: If you're writing about the changes we're making to combat Real World Trading (RWT), this message explains what RWT is, why we're making these changes to stop it, and how you can tell us what you think. You can learn much more by reading our latest Development Diary at runescape.com, and we're waiting to hear from you on the Forums.

2: If, instead, you're writing with any other suggestion or feedback, please post your message on the Suggestions Forum at runescape.com. We read all messages posted to the Suggestions Forum, and we're always glad to hear from you.

3: If you're writing to us for any other reason, and this message doesn't help you at all, we're sorry for the inconvenience. Please write back to us, and we will be very happy to assist you.

RWT sites allow players to cheat in RuneScape, by buying RuneScape items and gold using real-world money. We read hundred of messages each day from angry players, upset that cheaters have been able to get ahead in RuneScape by using these rule-breaking sites.

In response, we're taking a stand against these sites: we're making some changes to RuneScape to shut them down.

To learn about these changes, please read the latest Development Diary on runescape.com. The Diary explains our battle with RWT, and how important it is to stamp it out. We can't give you any further information through the messaging system, but the Diary will tell you all you need to know.

[REVISION] We know that some players are upset about the changes to RuneScape, but right now we need you to trust us. We're doing what it takes to keep our game fun to play. Imagine how much fairer RuneScape will be with no bots to get in your way, and no cheaters to make your efforts seem meaningless. That's why we're making these changes - we're doing it because we want to keep our game great. [/REVISION]

If we don't do this now, there will be no more RuneScape - so please help us by giving us your support.

We also know that without *you*, there would be no more RuneScape - so whether you like or dislike our updates, we want to hear from you on the runescape.com Forums. Feedback sent through the messaging system can't be passed on to RuneScape developers, but we've made some sticky posts in the Recent Updates Forum and we're waiting to hear from you there.

You'll need to be a member, and not banned from the Forums, to post your feedback. If you don't have a member account, or if you're banned from the Forums, you can sign up on runescape.com for a new member account.

It really matters to us that you care enough to write in. Please now log in to the Forums to tell us what you think - we're waiting to hear from you there.

I hope this message helps. If not, please do write back so that we can help you further.

Yours truly,
RuneScape Player Support

Good Luck. :)

Please always refer to the RuneScape Knowledge Base to find the answer to your queries quicker.

You can also find help on all free player and all new member quests through the QuestHelp system.

Yours Sincerely
Mod Gabriel

I'm not sure what the [revision] [/revision] means but this message was apparently sent to anyone who said anything about recent updates....

It even says it's automated in the message- That's what I'm okay with. I don't like when they have a non personal reply but they act as if it was. I understand why they are automating right now.

I was going to send a query yesterday (not related to the updates), but I decided against it at the present time because of the queries they're probably getting. I thought they would be doing something like this.

There probably been so many stupid queries sent.
"omfg u ruin BADscape lololol!!! u r all stupid *insert lots of swears* hahah dats rite, i swore, wut u gonna do?????? tell my principl? LOL btw i tell my parents 2 stop da money thing going 2 u guys
i will never play again until u give me free membership HA!"
An hour later the guy sends another one.
"WHERE IS MY FREE LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!#!?!?!?!???!?!USUCK!!!!#!$!!@@!@!
lol hidden message in the things above the numberz bet u cant find it
*more swears*"

I hope they send me an automated one, just to prove how right I am. I wish I could have written more, but 400 characters isn't much. I think I'll ask Warren where he sent that letter, and write one of my own.

If Jagex doesn't return RuneScape to normal, there won't be a RuneScape. Don't they know?

Really, I'd prefer to be "cheated" by the bots than losing everything that makes Runescape fun.

I couldn't agree more. Rule-Breakers really didn't affect me.

Of course you'll get a automated message. If they had to write a personal response you would get an answer, you just have to wait a couple of years probably. I mean they have had on the forums in 2 days a combined amount of 75000+ posts just about this topic. Most of the forums where you can talk about updates is filled with 50 pages about this. They get so many messages these days. If I would work there I'd automated everything. As soon if the word trade, wildy, bot, gold farmer, rwt in it I would send an automated response.

I'm still going to hold back on judgement until :

We see what they will do in response to players "moaning".

January updates to trade and the rest.

Just thought I would add :

You'll need to be a member, and not banned from the Forums, to post your feedback. If you don't have a member account, or if you're banned from the Forums, you can sign up on runescape.com for a new member account.

That made me laugh 8)
