What is this? I've heard it all over from "Giving free sharks" to "Giving free super potions."

All they ask is to see your inventory.

I've never done this because it just seems so odd.

Anyone know what it is?

Sounds weird. I've never heard of it before. You should get yourself an inventory with only ashes or so and show them to them.

What they do is,

They try to trick you into putting up your inventory while they put up the same number of "free items" aswell.

They hope you accept forgetting to take your items away therefor they get practically free items.

Not much of a scam. You'd have to be really out of it and not paying attention to fall for that. Especially if you had a large amount of items in your inventory.

i had this done to me at duel arena, a guy wanted to and on me and said to show my invent so he could trade the right number of sharks... in theory, its easy to remember to take your stuff down, but i hit accept the first time... declined second time... (i notice things a half a second too late most of the time, lol.)
im glad i was paying attention or i'd have lost my fury, d skirt, and g plate, which is the best armour i have. after i declined, he proceeded to log out... coward. it seems easy to stop, but keep in mind most of the players in rs haven't even hit puberty yet :s

I saw the inventory scam in Varrock centre.

Not a scam, but a lure that high lvls use is to PM random people and tell them they are making a PKing vid and want you to go to the wildy with just your weapon. They end up getting a team on you and you end up attacking someone by accident when you try to run away. I found out the hard way.

I have seen a couple of guys doing the same thing. It's little annoying if you ask me.

Yes i came across this, the guy said: Giving away free stuff, just show me your inventory, when i was selling full rune on a f2p world.
I traded the guy and shown him 1.5M and he canceled and called me "Ch00b" for an extremely unknow reason. 8)

Yes... this happened today.
