Every month I've noticed that jagex has punched out more and more melee and mage related updates, but nothing for range. Yes I know theres new god related range armor, the prayers, and enchantments but theres nothing we really need for range. Theres tons of melee weapons that have specials or other unique abilities and mage has spells that could seriously pwn some one *cough* ice burst *cough* and all range has is the magic and rune throwing axe spec thats hardley worth using. |

To be perfectly honest, I think people just expect too much from ranged. It was never meant to be ultra-super-powerful, just fast and safe. |

I really think that they should be equal instead of bieng somewhat the most underrated of the three. |

well to be honest, they're all pretty much equal. True, melee and magic do have more variety, but you should only be using a whip or ice spells if you're able to anyway. Just like with ranged, the best option is crystal bow. |

I suppose i'm tired of seeing the same old thing over and over again unlike the updates for melee, mage, and other things |

this topic overlaps white a bit with the "open up priffedis" or whatever the elven city is called... topic. i think they'll make a major ranging update in the next quest in the ardougne/isafdar questline. somewhere along the line, the elves that chant to the crystals will discover some lore in some tomb and it will allow them to produce more crystal weapons, including crystal ranging armour, etc. or perhaps the clothes the elves wear. upgrades to the crystal bow, such as enchanting the bow at some special alter to give its arrows various effects. (large labyrinth navigation req'd to reach each alter; enchantment req'd every time you recharge bow?) poisen? 1/10 chance of raising own ranged level? gain a special attack? etc. |

I think jagex should spend a little time on range but I also think that jagex only has so many updates and can't update everything at once so it's a little unfair to say that jagex should update range this second. |

I don't think range is neglected. And if you think it is, then just don't use it and do magic or melee 
Black dhide is overpowered. Rangers are the only ones with armor that actually protects them from what they are supposed to be weak to. Dhide has decent melee protection even though rangers are supposed to be weak to melee. |

YES!!! Ranger ARE neglected.... Exp: Barrows. Ok, So we get armor that is bairly better than black dragon, while meleers get barrows armor that is way better than normal dragon armor. C-Bow spec.. - Ohhh!!! Guess what i can lower your prayer! MSB - hey, we are Jagex, and everyone pk's now, so lets make the MSB a pking only weapon! lets nerf it so it only has one special!!! hahaha Oh, and lets also make it so the only thing they can look foreword to training on after 50 range is a c bow, but here is the kicker, lets make it more expensive than the c shield and shoot slow!! Oh, and here is another one Jagex does. They make AM, which if any 90+ ranger, ranger here has seen, a Mage pker with 94 magic will own a ranger that is potted up. |

Meh... Rangers just need better + range bonuses...possibly 2 specs in a row on magic bow, and just some type of amour. I think a robin hood armour would be sick. Something greenish, neatly dressed Somewhere close to this, but only a little more oldstylish and runescapeish. Kinda like the robin hat...but yeah this would be a good example... 
A nicley made cape especially for range would be good also. Theres always a fire cape, or skill cape that can be used for melee, or a god cape...for magic...but none specially for range besides the backpack. |

Wow jagex does hate range. They nerfed the MSB spec but didn't do anything for the ddp++. Shame jagex shame.

I think range is Fine, I use it a lot (cws mainly) with crystal bow, Yes i ain't got High range level but i never used cannon or pc for range  never will either.
Anyway yea i think range is fine how it is, Yea people with ice barrage still hit kinda a lot but its worth it because it costs like 2K per spell, Crystal bows are strong and cheap (if you get for 180k) i get along with it fine. The Magic short bow "Nerf" blame the pures for that (not a anti-pure but its true) So in my opinion i say range is fine.
