How many times sometime in your Runescape career have you been scammed out of an item by someone who takes away the item quickly? In two years that's happened to me twice. Here's a little idea I got from today's update in the wilderness. It's basically an improved version of the system we have now.

---

Situation is: Standing in Varrok, trading a player for 1K Yew logs.

Me: Trades other player
Guy: Puts up 1K Yews for trade
Me: Puts up 310K
Guy: *Quickly removes Yews
Me: I press accept not noticing the Yew being missing
Me: Presses accept on the final page

---

Now this is where my idea comes in. Whenever you trade someone for "Absolutely nothing!", a pop-up window comes up (Not letting you do anything else until you press "yes" or "no" ) and asks you if you would really want to trade for nothing.

I don't see any kind of flaws in this system, and I think it would cut down on that kind of scamming significantly.

Now this would not take care of item swappers. We just need to rely on out eyes and out patience for that.

Thank you for reading!

This would work both ways, if you give something, or if you take something.

The second trade screen doesn't do a very good job.

+1 to your supporters list, though the only problem with this is when friends are giving friends items for free, but then they're legit so they wouldn't mind waiting a second more.

add me to your supporters list, but i think that people who dont look at the second trade screen because they are so excited to get their pixels and lose their items/money, should blame it on themselves, its there for a reason, and it wouldn't hurt to look at it for an extra 5 seconds now would it?

a good idea anyways :D

in all honesty, i think the impatient speed fanatical fools that get scammed that way are the same people tat got scammed before they added the double check screen. if you all really think they need another window still, then go with this... on the first trade screen, you right click the items in your opponents window and hit "accept" individually on them, and if they remove that item, the trade is canceled. make things easier for bank sales =P.

ie: you are buying a dragon plateskirt, and you get a seller. you put up your 600k, then right click the skirt to id it. then, they switch the skirt out for a "dragon plate" toy from draynor village just before you hit accept. then on screen 2, a message shows up in bold glowing letters across the trade screen "this trade does not contain the item(s) you had agreed to" or something. so you can click decline, or the corner X.

then another handy little feature, from the trade window, you can choose the quicklink "report item scamming" to auto report the player you were trading with for item scamming. no impossible searching and adding to the friends list to remember their name, only to type it in just after the text scrolls past his offense like what always happens on world 2...

Its their fault if they don't look at the second trade screen. It wouldn't hurt to add it, though scammers would be mad. *looks at someone*

What about the people who put up, like, 20M, then switch it quickly for 20K? 20K isnt nothing.

It's an OK idea, although has flaws. Maybe there could be a system where you can only click 'Accept' after five seconds after trade items are changed in the first screen, and you can only click accept after ten seconds on the second screen.

I never got scammed in my RuneScape life, I always take time slowly looking at 2nd trade screen even it takes me more then a minute. That's what 2nd trade screen was for, although I do have to encourage idiots like that everyday who try to scam me with that trick, but they will never trick good old Alex

I've suggested this before but never got enough supporters, if anyone makes a sug about this on the RS forum you can add me as a supporter.

I fail to see why the second trade screen isn't enough. Just hands off the mouse and look at what you are getting.

I doubt that has every happened to anyone as 20m is just displayed as 20M, whereas 20k is displayed as 20000.

Well, removing it and leaving 200, then. The point is there's only a difference of one character which people dont notice, but whats left behind isnt nothing.
