Post subject:  2 Idea's, Involving Tears of Guthix & Skill Capes

Here are my 2 idea's

Skill cape suggestion wrote:
I have a 5 level 99 skills.
Those are Attack, Strenght, Defence, Hitpoints and Woodcutting.
From those skills I bought 2 skill capes, the Attack skill cape and the Woodcutting skill cape.
It's very useful to have 100/99 in those skills but it's very annoying as well to keep clicking on 'operate' each time it's back to 99/99.

Here's my suggestion:
The skill cape stays 100/99 and when the skill get boosted by a potion of drained by a spell or something else it automaticly regenerates back to 100/99.

Example:
- you equip the Attack cape (Attack: 100/99)
- an 10 minutes later (Attack: 100/99)
- you use the Dragon Battle-axe's special attack (Attack: 91/99)
- you use a Super Restore potion (Attack: 100/99)
or
- you wait for 30 minutes or whatever the regeneration time is (Attack: 100/99)

My point is, equip the skill cape and you'll have level 100 in the skill!

Example:
"Come back in 3 days, 7 hours and 49 minutes."

99 Capes are really just about showing off an achievement rather than being something useful. So I think the slight boost is fine the way it is.

However the Tears of Guthix one I can't argue with, I wouldn't want to go down into the caves and find out I have to wait anouther 20 minutes before I can play.

I like the skill cape suggestion.

But you can go to the quest interface and click on the Tears of Guthix quest and at the bottom it says if you can or can't collect tears and how many more days to wait.

Yeah, but a day is 23hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds, so it's a big diffrence If you go at 01:24 or 23:45.

I Agree with the skillcape, just perm boost it to 100, won't be annoying to click everytime.

Just being able to pick a story to tell Juna would really help me out. Sort of wish she'd let me in 30 seconds longer when I wear the quest point cape. Gives it some use.

Anyways, I totally agree with the Juna one. The skillcape one, however, I'm not so sure I agree. Is it really fair that you train to level 99 and one extra semi-permanent stat for 99 000?

Upon revision, the skill cape should only perm. boost only when you reach the required exp for level 100, I think this would be fair.

i like the idea of if u have the right cape on and the xp for 100, let that skill sit at 100. would also like Jagex to make it so that if u have 5 skill capes it looks different than the trimed or not trimed, sorries off topic a hair, 99k for a 99 skill, should be cheap, idk bout u, but less your skill is fire making, all skillz make u moneys 1 way or another, and with the tears of Guthix, i never noticed, i always forget bout that cave :p

just so you know, you can go to your quest log and click on tears of guthix and it tells you when you can go back.

I support 'em both.

But I think you should need the required xp for 100 and the when wearing the cape it shows your stat as 100/100.

here's an idea for th tears of guthix counter ... put it in the quest detail. example:

actual quest summary goes here even though it is relatively short and
makes tno real difference to the point im tryign to make but im putting
this lame little pharagraph thing just to represent the text that would in
normal circumstances be the actual summary of your quest up to this
point. for tears of guthix it woudl be somethign like "juna told me i can
drink the tears of guthix if i can get a propper bowl for them to be stored
in and give her an equal exchange of information about my past in the
form of stories. i replaced a lantern's lens with a saphire lens. this
attracted the bizarre light creatures. by travelign with them i managed to
reach a special stone which could hold the tears, from which i carved a
stone bowl. i told juna a story of my exploits, and she allowed me to
access the tears of guthix. she will keep my bowl for me so i do not lose
it or forget it.

(actual relevent part starts here!!)
I last entered the cave last (daygoeshere) at X:XX am/pm, which was X days, X hours, and X minutes ago
juna says i may collect more tears from guthix's stones 7 days from then, at X:XX am/pm, which is in X days X hours, and X minutes, if i have a new story to tell her.


example of this little form...

I last entered the cave last monday at 3:32 pm, which was 3 days, 19 hours, and 35 minutes ago
juna says i may collect more tears from guthix's stones 7 days from then, next monday at 3:33 pm, which is in 3 days 4 hours, and 26 minutes, if i have a new story to tell her.

yeah, its just an extension of what the game already does, but it would help be a little mroe exacting in terms of accuracy... some people do go exactly as soon as they are able to, to maximize the number of plays they have at the game, which is 52_5/28ths (leap year =\) plays per year at best. all the same, yeah... it would probaly be the easiest to do.

another option i thought of would be an object similar to the slayer gem or amulet of nature... sort of like th ecomorb from wanted... lol, followup quest. ending with you bringing juna the propper ingredients and runes to cast an enchantment pon the saphire lantern, which you would melt down into the form of an amulet, to :A) tell you when you can play tears of guthix when you rub it, broken down into days hours and maybe minutes, and :B) provide a light source that can be worn in the amulet space, and is non extinguishable by normal standards. (lasts for 10 hours of cave use, then extinguishes. recharges glow when you play tears of guthix or use it on a light creature in the caves)

I don't think that the skill cape should boost the stat to 100 for the whole time you are wearing it. Although at the moment it lasts maybe a 2min. This could be changed to a longer time, maybe 10 min. I don't think that a permanent boost would be a good idea though, it just seems a little too much.

I do agree on the tears suggestion though, the game is obviously recording when we last visited the cave because it only lets us in after that time. I don't see why it would be a lot of work to tweak the quest page slightly to give us more information and it would be very useful ^_^
