Post subject:  "High Level"?

At combat level 100, my stats were:

81 Hitpoints (~2million XP)
81 Attack (~2million XP)
80 Strength (~2million XP)
80 Defense (~2million XP)

Ranged, Prayer, and Magic don't really factor in much here.

Some people would say, Yes, a level 100 is indeed a high level! Hell, some would say 90's are high levels. Truth be told, 2 million XP isn't much. I realized this because of my Firemaking goal. I'm at 8million XP, four times that of level 80, but only 14 levels higher.

My melee stats are currently:

91 Hitpoints (6.3million XP)
91 Strength (~6million XP)
91 Attack (~6million XP)
90 Defense (5.7million XP)

(Notice how a level 110's stats plus a level 100's stats will get them maybe 2-3 levels in each stat? Lol.)

That is well over double, almost triple the XP of a level 100, but I'm only 12 combat levels more. Let's look at a level 123's stats:

99 Attack (13 million XP)
99 Hitpoints (13 million XP)
99 Defense (13 million XP)
99 Strength (13 million XP)

Okay. I'm level 112, 11 away from 123, but have less than half the XP of the 123 in each skill. 6-7million difference in each.

Reading some comments about how high levels are mean, they don't care about anyone, unkind selfish people...are they true? No, because first you need to ask what is a really a high level? Level 100? No, 2million XP is nothing. Level 110? No, 5million XP is less than half of level 99. Level 120ish? Yes, getting there.

But the whole mean, unkind part..how can you have an opinion of someone based on their Runescape levels? High levels are jerks. No, certain people are jerks. Noobs are stupid! No, certain people are stupid. And that also brings up, what's a low level, or what's a noob? I'm sure you can answer that by now.

Well put. It also depends on where you get that experience. If you see a non member that is lvl 100...it means a lot more than a member that is lvl 100. The member has pest control, and various other places to gain experience very quickly. Further, on the idea of mean or stupid, really when you play runescape you are playing in the world associating with a huge number of people...some are going to be nice, mean, annoying, irritating, exciting...etc...but that is how the world is...so if you don't like it, go live on top of a mountain somewhere.

Interesting points.

Not all high levels are selfish jerks, a level 115 complimented me on my stats instead of calling me a stupid pure.

Its not the level its the person playing.

1. Everyone's view is biased, so it's all about a person's perspective
2. To get to a high lvl you need to a. Take a hell load of time b. Be efficient with your time

Now if a high level is being efficient with their time then they usually don't stop of the minor (to them) problems of a lower level.

From me; To get where I got, I was *almost* never given anything. I worked for it, and in much the same way in real life I have also done the same thing.
Ex. I pay of 98% of my stuff, I worked for it. I current have some saved up for university also.
- So why can't you?

- Why do you need to beg? All you have to do is grab a pick/wc ax and mine/wc and sell it -.-

Combat takes more times than firemaking.

+100 is still pretty high level.

If you think it isn't, make another level 100.

Some people in the game don't seem to get that it's exactly that: a game. They need to lighten up and not be rude to someone just because the other person has more of a social life. (That's part of why I quit.)

But you're correct, it does seem like an awful lot of work for being a few levels higher.

That's because of the exp slope.

the xp slope isnt designed to make things impossible. Remember, as one levels up more, one will get more xp quicker. The xp slope simply exists to put a damper on that effect at medium levels, and to make high levels enough of a challenge for people to work towards, but not so challenging that people will denounce it as impossible.

I never said it was impossible. If Jagex want to even the exp slope out then the exp for higher level things should be boosted slightly so it doesn't take ages from level to level. Or no life-ing *cough*

That, and if you didn't need that much experience to get to level 99 all, then there would be so many people level 123 and above that mostly everyone would be considered a newbie rather then the 80-es.

You're right. Experience and skill doesn't make a newbie. It's the poorly executed willpower and thoughts that make up the newbie.

The whole "High Level" thing may not be applied to everywhere. Meaning it seems not to have ANYTHING about being "High" . Examples of this for seeing an average in levels in any training area. If you simply are below the "average" then you may be typically considered a minor no matter how mature you are :? . Point being that people trust and find more fun to be around combat levels not too far ahead or too far away from them.

If I see a level 100-110 they may be experienced but haven't actually claimed themselves to being a "High Level" without 1 skill that has reached 99 in the least. These are most of the people known as the Jerks of RuneScape I suppose  .

In other words, it's all relative. But we are taking this as a whole.

I'll put my opinion like this: a low-level person is someone that has low statistics in comparison to the average statistics of a "hardcore" RuneScape player. And a "noob" is, as the gaming webcomic "Ctrl+Alt+Del" puts it nicely, "a player that has no clue what he's doing, but won't admit to it". It's a quote, but that's what I think too. :P
