So your stuck, thinking how to get that money to get that party hat you've always wanted. Well, he is some helpful tips on how to get that money, without begging or scamming!
Ways to Get Money
There are HUNDREDS of ways to get money in RS, but here i will list several of the good ones.(in no order, 3 best for each type)
F2p Guide:
If you are a free player, you dont have nearly as many options of getting money as members do. But none the less, there are enough ways to get that armor or hat you've wanted as a free player.
1: In free to play, Mining/Smithing is your best way of aquiring money. Since all ores are avaible to free players, this is THE way to go if you want big bucks in free. A good way to do this is to mine lots of iron or coal, since steel bars are in big demand. You can sell coal for up to 190 gp ea,and iron for up to 100 ea! Which is pretty good, since it makes for a good profit when making steel bars!. Also, if your mining is over 60, mine coal for pure profit, and if your over 85, mine rune, 100 rune ore is 1.2 mil, which is INSANE money.
2: The next best option to make money in free. Woodcutting is also popular when it comes to getting millions. Woodcutting is limited in free, so it might be tough to sell your yews, or other logs. The BEST way to make a profit off woodcutting is to chop yews, since willows are not worth the money to chop(35 ea log, if your lucky). Yews can sell for up to 300 ea, which adds up quickly when you have lots of them. Since free is a smaller world then members, it might take a while to get a good amount of logs. Nevertheless, Woodcutting hasnt failed me yet, so this is the #2 way of getting money in f2p.
3: If you are a lower level, and you dont have the time to level up non combat skills, try a hand at collecting feathers or cow hides. Cow hides are extremely profitable, since people are willing to pay up to 350 PER cow hide, if you find the right buyer. Feathers are best to sell in bulk(i,e, more than 10k). Each chicken is guarenteed to drop at least 5 feathers, and you dont have to bank when getting feathers. This ranks in at the number 3 spot in my guide.
Members(p2p) guide:
If you are a member, you have the most ways of getting rich at a decent rate. Since there are 5 more members skills, that opens up at least 5 more ways to make money. Here is what i think is the best way to make money in p2p( in no order, 5 best
1: In p2p lands, money is VERY easy to come by. I struggled to get more than 30k in free, yet now i have over 1.3 mil in cash, and 1+ mil in items when i was in members. The best way to get money as a member is a combo of FLETCHING & RuneCrafting. You cut/buy your yew or magic logs, fletch them then string them. Depending on your skills, and how much money you have, you might not make a big profit at first. After stringing your bows, store them in your bank, then go make the same amount of nature runes. HIGH alch all your bows, resulting in magic xp and cash. If you are good at fletching (70+), this is your income.
2: In members, Woodcutting is also a great way to get money. Magic logs are the income for most lumberjacks, since they can sell for 1k ea log, so mass amounts of them is good money. You need 75 woodcutting for this, although its slow untill 78+ woodcutting. Sell logs in bulks of 1000+, since people might be willing to buy for more per log. Yews are also a good option if magics are slow for you.
3: RUNECRAFTING falls in at number 3 in my list, since its slower than others, but is INSANE money when you have good amounts of runes.The best runes to make in bulk are Natures, or airs if you hate making nats. Natures are the key to big bucks. Natures sell for 400 ea, and making 4k of them or more will result in a lot of money. Though it takes a while to make all them natures, its well worth it. Airs are also good in bulk, since people will pay up to 25 gp ea if you sell over 100k airs. This may seem like a lot, but its really less ess than you think. Airs can be doubled every 11 levels, so if you have a good RC lvl, this is also an alternative to making natures. Natures need 44 rc to make, airs are lvl 1.
4: Since members have the ability to fish sharks, sharks are great money if you sell to pkers. 76 fishing takes time to get to, but you can sell cooked sharks for 1k ea to pkers, who will buy lots of your food for good prices. Lobs in bulk can sell for 250 ea, which is good money if you have them cooked or raw.
5:Spinning flax and making bow strings is also a good way of getting money. Bowstrings can sell for 150 ea, so high amounts are good money. This is tedious work, but well worth it, and its crafting xp
6: You can also stake if you are a member. This is a great way to make money if you play your cards right. Im no good at staking, but melee is the way to go if you are staking, since most people wont allow range duels--Thanks to Hello5000
The number one way of making mad money for f2p and p2p is MERCHANTING. If you are skilled and have lots of time, this is for you. Bascially, buy items for low prices, then sell for more than you bought for. If you have the time, you can make millions in a day.
