Simple really. Money and fame = corruption. I'm not saying it's always true, but most of the time it is. When Jagex first came out with Runescape, they seemed to care a lot more about the players than just getting the money. Then Runescape 2 came out, and more and more updates were based on low levels and most of the news quests really didn't seem that great. It seemed that Jagex just wanted to make people get members and get more money.

Because somehow it would be better for RuneScape for them to not have profits in mind? How else will they expand their staff allowing for bigger and better things in the future? Am I missing something?

And you act like RuneScape offers nothing for you to do. They cannot only have higher level updates. And do not say 'I don't want them to have only higher level updates, I want them just to have more' because more is never enough. They add higher level updates here and there. They release a skill, which everyone can do [the ideal update]. They release a new minigame... new quests... they release things that everyone can do. Why are you complaining? If you want things that only you and a few thousand other people can do in an elitist way, excluding anyone lower than level 110, then you'll have to be patient and wait for Jagex to release something like that. As it has a low target audience and the majority of their players won't reach level 110 in the near future, it serves little purpose for them to do this.

And don't compare RSC and RS2. RS2 has made it so much easier to train that you have become a 'higher level' in half the time. If you had been the same level in RSC, you would have nothing to do at this point besides duel and PK, etc. just like you do now. Except now you also have some minigames to do.

I had to re-read that 3 times to understand what your wrote...

Yes, Jagex can be corrupted especially with bannings and mutings. Sometimes they can not be corrupted. What are we going to do? Absolutely nothing. They can be responsible for their future, whether it is the downfall of the company or even more players. I don't know how they have as many players as they do. If you asked everyone at my school who played once if they liked it or thought it was horrible, 1/100 would say they liked it.

I wasn't complaining for one thing. I'm only level 66 and I'm a nonmember, so I really don't have much of a say and don't care about most of the new things that come out (since most are for members anyway). I was just pointing out facts. I read through summaries of new quests that come out, and not many of them look all that good. Like Slug Menace which came out not too long ago, it sounded boring and the reward was only about 7k fishing experience, although I'd probably have to do the quest to judge it further. Also, Jagex DOES want people to become members and get more money, so that like you said, they can get more money to make more stuff, so that was just another fact I pointed out. I'm just saying, I was by no means complaining in my post.

Corrupted no. Screwed up? Yes.

Jagex need to listen to more experienced players instead of aiming for a lower niche market and aiming at players who will only play for 2 months.

My in-game experience it's still too low. Never had problems with Jagex. Yet.
It's not that Jagex is corrupted, if you follow the rules and you are polite to people and if you always be carefull on what you say. (don't say p2p programmes, websites, e-mail, remeber what happened to Alex43? I don't even imagine what he's feeling. This was suposed to be a fun game) oh right... After all this text I can conclude that Jagex is corrupted

I thnik it all depends on how long you've been playing Runescape. Maybe not, but I've been playing this game for four years now and the change in Jagex staff has been drastic since I've first started. I remember when Paul himself used to write the news updates himself, but I thnik a grunt member of the staff does it now. Seeing Jagex change and slowly care less and less about their loyal Runescape players, makes me conclude that money corrupts you. I miss the old days when there were only around 10 worlds.

:(

Oh yeah. Money is the square of evil. It could be because of that.

Well i think jagex now only cares about money not about what players need like they answers to complains or other sent messages always end like this "why not become member to suport us.... " and this is bad i think if it goes like that in me opinion most high lvls will end whit rs and only noobs left. But i dont think rs will end till noobs are :D
