Post subject: | The Ultimate Transportation Guide -POH Updated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
~The Basics~ RuneScape is constantly growing larger, and more transportation methods are being made to help you move large distances in short periods of time. Two Icons on the Minimap you might want to note are the Short Cut and Transportation Icons. ![]() The easiest and cheapest method is just walking or running. To switch between the two, click either one of the circles. Or if you are walking and want to run. Press Ctrl and then click where you want to go. Running Uses up energy, just like in real life, energy will restore itself if you are walking or just standing, there are also a number of items to give extra run energy.
As a members only feature, there are lots of shortcuts scattered across RuneScape, that can be used with the required agility level, this is really what made Agility one of the essential skills of a good RuneScaper. ~Teleportation~ Through the use of Magic Skill, you can teleport to various key locations right across RuneScape, some however, require a quest to be able to use them. New members can also use the Lumbridge HomePort to teleport them to Lumbridge, however it takes awhile to cast, and if interrupted, you will stop. Modern, Ancient and Lunar Magicks all have teleport spells. Modern Magicks can Teleport to every major city, as well as your own house and Ape Atol. Lunar usually will teleport to somewhere near water, or in Freminik, as well as having the extra feature of being able to teleport a group of people (providing there accept aid is on) to locations. Modern Magicks
Ancient Magicks
![]() Lunar Magicks
![]() TeleOther Spells
![]() POH Teleporting For those with high construction, you will be able to access rather useful features of your house. Such as portal rooms, which can be charged up for infinite teleports to a certain location. To charge up you must have 100 of that Teleport. You do not need to have acquired the magic level to charge the portals, and rune staffs cannot be used. Pictured below; by having 6 different portals and a house in Yanille. I can go to almost anywhere I would usually need to go but be on Lunar or Ancient Magicks. To access my house, I can use a house Teleport Tablet. ![]()
The more famous version of POH teleportation methods is the teleport tablet, being one space they take up less inventory room, and you can even have a tablet teleporting you right into your house, so if you die of poison, you will just appear outside, they can teleport you to either;
![]() To create teletablets. go into your study and use the lecturn, there is a grid of teleports and enchantments, select the teleport you require. You must have soft clay and the runes required to get to your destination. This time however, you can use rune staffs ![]() ~Teleport Jewellery~ In addition to normal Teleporting, you can also enchant jewellery so that it may teleport you to certain locations. Jewellery can be made using the Crafting Skill and Enchanted using the Magic Skill.
The Pharoah's Sceptre In Addition to The Jewellery, Thieves may find a Pharoahs Sceptre while at the Pyramid Plunder Mini-Game. The Sceptre can Teleport you to...
![]() Spirit Trees For those who have completed the quest 'The Grand Tree'. You can access the Spirit Trees, which will take you across for free. You can also grow Spirit Trees if you have 81 Farming. Spirit Seeds are only obtainable from Birds' Nests and cannot be traded ![]() In the Wilderness you may have spotted these portals, when activated, they will send you and whoever else is standing on the portal to another portal, which portal you end up in is totally random. So you could find your self a little too high for your liking. The Pink Dots below on the map indicate Portals. ![]() ![]() ~Air Travel~ 2 Methods of air travel are currently avaliable. Gnome Gliders and The Flying Carpets. You must complete quests to unlock either. Flying Carpets Ali Morrisane has set up a network of Flying Carpets as a quick transportation method through the desert. Each Carpet Ride Costs 200gp, 100 upon completing The Feud, or 75 gp if you have a Ring of Charos (a). To flying to Uzer you must have completed The Golem quest, The Bedabin Camp, Tourist Trap. ![]() Gnome Air For those who have Completed 'The Grand Tree', you will be able to use the Gnome Gliders, the Gliders can literally transport you across RuneScape in seconds, and if you have Completed 'One Small Favour' then you can also use the Ogre area glider. ![]() ~Sailing~ Boats The most obvious, and diverse method of water transportation are boats. Dotted throughout the ports of RuneScape, most boats are free, however boats to and from Karamja cost 30gp ![]() Charter Ships Being more expensive than normal boats, Charter Ships can take you to more locations than ordinary boats. And you are not limited by one destination, however, it costs a bit more.
![]() Canoes One of the less used transport methods are canoes, you can make canoes along the river Lum at 4 points. Edgeville, Barbarian Village, Champions Guild, and Lumbridge. Bring a woodcutting axe along, chop the canoe tree down, shape a canoe, cast off and your away. The better the canoe, the further it can travel. You can also take the canoe to the level 35 Wild. ![]() ![]() ~Miscellaneous~ The Ectophial One of the most prized possesions of A Tomb Raider or the Kalphite Slayer. A reward from completing Ghost Ahoy this item teleports you to the Ectofunctus. The Ectophial is cherished for it's one-click uninterrupted teleport ability. And to recharge, simply use the empty phial on the Ectofunctus. ![]() Elf Crystal Yet another Key Possesion, the Elf Crystal is given to you at the start of Mournings End Part 1. You can obtain more by killing elves and have multiple (I myself have about 60), Eluned will Recharge for a minimal fee. ![]() Enchanted Lyre Once you have completed 'Freminik Trials' you can use this to teleport to the pathway into Relleka, use of this item is uncommon since there are no banks near the teleport spot, and it requires a raw Shark, Sea Turtle or Manta ray to recharge or a Bass with ring of chaos (a). ![]()
Grand Seed Pod For those Delivery Boys out there, running around giving food to old rich gnomes, you may be given a Grand Seed Pod. You can either launch the pod, and a Gnome Pilot will pick you up within a minute. Or you can squash the pod and get dragged back to the Grand Tree by roots, the second method may be faster, but it will reduce your farming level by 5. ![]() Camulet After Finishing Enakhra's Lament you obtain the Camulet, as well as giving you the ability to speak to camels, you can use it to Teleport to Enakhra's Temple. To recharge it, use it with Ugthanki Dung. Fairy Rings Once you are up to a certain stage in Fairy Tale Part 2, you can use the Fairy Rings, to find out more about the Fairy Rings click here. ~Final Tips~ To quickly access Fairy Rings, Teleport to Edgeville, and use the Rings south of the Canoe Station. Get multiple elf crystals by killing elves If you are not sure where to put a Spirit Tree, plant one at Port Sarim. There are plenty of boats to catch to help you get across the world quicker. Squash seed pods unless you tend to farm shortly afterwards, it saves time. If you kill the Dagganoth Kings alot, save walking time by having a Lunar Mage in the group. Lumbridge Teleport is not just for Newbies, it can be very useful if you find yourself bugged so you cannot escape, or are in no immediate danger but do not have a quick way out. Completing The Watchtower quest and Plague City is really useful, you will often find you have to go to Yanille and Ardrounge alot. Thanks for Reading Agent Waffles- Out. |
