Possibly, but I'm sure a well-constructed fansite would tell most of the same info.

On the other hand, this is official and therefore would contain all accurate and well-displayed information, as well a few tricks that fansites may not have listed.

It's not a scam. Paul and Mod Chris L were quite heavily involved in proof-reading it, and a lot of the graphics are from us.

It's only a guide to the non-members game. There'd be no point publishing a guide to the members' features that change all the time. For that we have our Knowledge Base.

Believe it or not, players (mostly lower-level ones) did ask for us to release an official introduction to the game. I don't see it being a significant source of income for us.

Aha. I bet this won't contain any new information.

Im sure this will just be a relatively similar copy of the "Runescape Manual" that currently exists on the website, probably nothing worth $6.99 but Im sure it will be yet another big hit, much like the ringtones and wallpapers!

they were big hits? i hated them.

The guide will pretty much say everything a god fansite has. Maybe it will have a few hints, but considering the time most fansites have been running, i doubt it. they may aswell just give links to fansites on their homepage, its not as if they need the cash from it, as that jmod said.

i don't need a book like that
i know a lot and what i don't know i'll find on a fan site or on the knowledge base
so to me it's just a waste of precious money
maybe it's good for the newcomers

Lol for f2p only. I reckon making one for P2P would be stupid but I don't get why they make a strategy book for F2P since there's nothing really complicated in it lol.
