Firemaking Guide Tye-dye Definition: ![]() For those of us who like to lvl completely pointless skills up to insanely high levels just so we can boast to our friends where in the high scores for this pointless skill we are, here is a guide you might enjoy. ![]() Firemaking consists of taking a tinder box (which you can buy at any general store) and a log, using the tinderbox on the log and voila! You have a fire. To lvl it up to an insanely high level....say.... level 70 (my current goal) you need to repeat this process many many many many more times. To start out with lets examine the process of making a fire (omg I sound like my chemistry professor there). When you use the tinderbox on the log, your character automatically drops the log, then attempts to light the log. Eventually it starts burning and your character automatically steps one tile to the east to get off of the fire (unless there is an obstacle to the east in which case your character will step to the west). Since this is the case, to effectively make large amounts of fires in a short period of time, you need a large open area of ground, near a bank, that runs east to west with no obstructions in the way. Any flowers or tall grass is an obstacle since you can’t light a fire on the flowers or grass. The best place I have found to light fires is Draynor Village. There is an area there just 1 click from the bank where you can light fires in a straight line with no obstructions. In Varrock is another good spot to burn fires also, right below the west bank. North of Falador east bank is a large stretch of ground that is good for fire making also. Methods of Firemaking ![]() 1. For lvl 15 and higher the oaks west of Varrock, south of Juliet’s house. 2. For lvl 30 firemaking and higher the Lumbridge willows near the start of the sheep shearer quest. 3. For lvl 60 firemaking and higher the yews behind Varrock palace is a good place, not during the night though because there is many macroers there. ![]() 1. From lvl 1 to lvl 15. Cut trees south of Juliet’s house near Varrock. Deposit them in the Varrock west bank. When you have a lot of logs, burn them right next to the bank but not on the flowers near the bank wall. 2. For lvl 15-30 firemaking. The Varrock oaks again, west of Varrock, south of Juliet’s house is really close to the bank and you can cut tons of oaks there really quick. When you have a lot of the oak logs just burn them near the bank again like you did with the normal logs. 3. For lvl 30-59 firemaking. Cut willow logs at Draynor Village. Just south of the bank. Deposit them in the bank. When you have a lot of willows burn them near the bank. 4. For lvl 60+ firemaking you can continue to use willows or you can switch to yew logs. You can cut yew logs east of Draynor Village. Between Lumbridge and Draynor Village are 4 yew trees. Deposit them in the Draynor bank. You can cut yews north of Varrock palace (once again not at night though because there can be up to 30 macroers there at a time). Deposit logs from there in the Varrock west bank. 5. There are two yew trees really close to a bank in Edgeville, but that is usually really crowded so I wouldn’t recommend cutting yews there. ![]() 1. From lvl 15-30, buy oak logs 15-20 gp ea and burn them near the bank you bought them at. 2. From lvl 30-50, buy willow logs for 30-50 gp ea and burn near the bank you bought them at. A good bank to buy willows at is Draynor bank really close to the willows. 3. From lvl 50-60 you can buy maple logs from members for 100 gp ea and burn in Seers Village or Draynor. Or just keep buying willows. 4. For lvl 60+, buy yew logs 250-300 gp ea and burn in the most convenient location. ![]() Xp Table*
