Post subject:  Thieving Idea

*NOTE: This is an idea for a new alternate way for training Thieving.*

Okay, so I'm getting extremely bored of the way we train thieving now. It's more or less incredibly dull, and this actually gives thieving a bad reputation for being such a boring skill. So I thought of something that I thought that we should be able to have for thieving.

Basically to start off with thieving, there will be several components involved in this. I based this off the same system for Slayer.

A Doyen/Thief Leader - Assigns thieving tasks.
A Fence/Buyer/Seller - Buys various stolen things and trades it for money and experience.
A Location - A place where you go to in a task.
A Victim - A person being stolen from.

So take it for example there being several Doyens involved in this. If you wanted to train thieving, you would take up a task from a Doyen. The Doyen will give you a task where you may go to a location, and you must steal a certain object or do a certain task.

Say per example, you were assigned to steal a bust from a castle. You would somehow infiltrate the castle, evade detection from the castle guards, make your way into a treasury, steal the bust, and get out of the castle. But however you can steal other certain valuables along the way you may see to get some extra cash and experience.

Afterwards you are done with the task, you take the object back to the Doyen and you get paid and experience for the task. You can take the excess items you collect in the task and take them back to a Fence who will trade it for cash and some small experience as well.

Also within the task, it may be necessary to do some various things, like say lock pick a door, or solve a puzzle. Lockpicks and other tools may be necessary to get past these tasks.

As with how long the task takes and how difficult the task was, that will vary your experience. Something as simple as stealing from a house could be something from 2k experience or so, but something like infiltrating a castle would be about 10k experience or so.

I like the idea. That would be an interesting addition to the game. Mabye it could possibly be a minigame based on breaking into a castle and doing things. Which would give thieving xp. Or if not a minigame that would be a good way to train. Its more then just standing behind a farmer for an hour clicking on him. I like your idea, I will support it.

Sounds like a neat idea. You got my support. This idea actually puts all the thieiving features into use. Lock picking, disabling traps, etc.

I trained thieving for awhile a few days ago and I do realized how tedious the task is. Simply click and wait.

Awsome idea I also support it. And yes thieving is extremely dull to train...also hard to level with so little xp you get. :x

Great idea, but it sounds more like a mini-game.

Only someone with the name thief can come up with such a good thieving idea...but even if they do, do this it would prob be a mini game...like everyone else said...

Yeah, I was aiming more towards a mini-game-ish kind of thing. Seeing as how there's no other mini-game directly aimed at training Thieving. Only Rogue's Den is the one that trains it, but it's not a very good one.

So, would it be sort of like sneaking into that mansion for the rat-catcher quest?
