Ooh, that's interesting. Parents never bother to read any of that stuff though. They're determined to keep our eyes off computer screens no matter what... :(

Another thing that annoys me is that my parents always think I'm playing games when I'm doing some stuff in Photoshop or browsing forums. They have no idea the life of an extra-ordinary teenager... I can't exactly say I'm that average. :wink:

Yup, that's about all they have to say about it :D That doesn't phase me though, I play it anyways.

Very interesting article. Ill print it out and hook my parents up with an article they can't refute :D

lol yeah as much? Lots of ppl just play rs and say forget homework.. But it is an interesting article. About time something like that was released..

Points out the possitive things of rs. Hmm i have to agree rs has helped me in some ways. It doesnt affect me in a negative way no more like it used to.. When the first 6months on membership i play 5-12 hours a day :shock: I was really addicted back then..

But im the same way as creepy, my mum has always given me free will and choices to do whatever i want.

I love seeing things like this. Even though this article is good, for us, I saw no mention of the hacking, scamming, bad language, and general immaturity of most of the players in runescape - and other mmo's.


My mum says most of the games I play - online, consoles, or others - are a waste of my time. But lets face it, with no games in life I'll grow up to be like those office workers on a £12K salary with no life and no girlfriend. Why - cause theyre boring.

Of course, people can argue that "you play far too many online games, you have no life". Well, I think this article prooves that even though some of us do spend a lot of time on the computer, and the internet, most of it is interacting with others and making nwe friends. Hell, in 4 months at rsbandb, ive made a load more friends than I have done in 16 years of my life irl.

interestingly enough when my step bro first came here to america he had trouble with english like everyother imigrant. but i got him hooked on RS and even his english teacher saw an improvment in his english since he was forced to use it everytime.

Aw, BBC wrote about Runescape! My parents obviously don't care what I do anymore as long as I do well in school. But, if I were younger..I'd probably get an earful about how pointless the game is to them.

well ur parents would probably be right for worrying about how long u spend on the computer. no matter what any report says u cant deny that its better for u to be outside talking and socialising with real people and getting excercise than it is sitting in front of a computer.

Thats very interesting. I just showed it to my Dad and he said the same thing. I had been trying to tell him the same thing before, but now in writing he will believe it. He said he might even try the game if he has free time from work. :shock:

I agree with MQ, BBC writing about runescape? What is the world coming to! Its fantastic though, the article I mean, I've printed it out and my mum's reading it now.
My parents moaned when I said I wanted to become a member, because it meant spending money on an online thing but other than that its been fine, and I'm good and get all my homework done first!
