Whats the highest amount of money youve lost from merchenting? i dont merchent so i haven't lost anything.

never lost a dime merchanting.. i dont merchant very much.. only merchanted 2 times really, maybe made 3mil in profit in total both times.. but meh, that was nothing.. Merchanting is not a skill and in the end, just people making money a lame, dishonest, and lazy way. They have no "real" skillz so they have to merchant.

Yes i know i just said all that yet ive merchanted a couple times, i was trying it out so what. We all try it out, but there is a fine line between spending 95% of your time doing it compared to 2 times doing it. ;)

~proud to be 1738 total from hard work, not by getting rich from 85 slayer or merchanting, dont have 85 slayer ;)

I merchant when I need money, usually to fund my other stats such as Firemaking, so I usually don't have to do much merchanting for it.

(1k Willows only cost 30k) :D

I don't know what I've lost from merchanting... I remember buying a guthix skirt for *cheap* when they were 600k. The prices dropped really quickly and I ended up having to sell it for 3-400k. Not a big loss but that's about the only thing I can remember. Good thing I sold it then anyway, since they've dropped to about 150k max now...

I have some real skills, but I like merchanting.. I don't see what's wrong with trading things. If you don't buy it for the price, someone else will.

Not true. I have 86 mining and achieved it honestly which frankly, took alot of work. Now, when mining rune, there is alot of down time waiting to get the ore, sometimes 2-3 minutes per ore. What's wrong with making an additional 500k while you're waiting (make a deal to buy 100k ess 35 each, then resell 40 ea :D )? Absolutely nothing. Doesn't mean Im lazy, just means that I use my time wisely.

However, I guess that a "pure merchant," a level 3 with no skillz is just a little ridiculous. I do agree with you on that aspect.

Yes my whole rant was actually directed at people who only merchant or spend most of their time doing it.. Sorry if it wasnt clear on that.. I know what rune ores are like.. annoying..lol So yes it is wise to do that. I did something similar, when obby capes came out, i made 3mil in one day merchanting those while i fletched mage and yew logs ;)

How does a level 3 get their first load of items for merchanting though? You've gotta have a skill somwhere. I don't do merchanting so have never lost money, sometimes I think it'd be far easier than doing things the hard way though!

Ive gained a total of about 1 Mil merchanting, probably.

Currently though, my phat went down in value like 4mil, but its goin back up again =)

merch 4 life! well i sold my red for 10mil more than it was worth right after the cursed brother were banned, 50mil loss there, i felt that i was too silly to mechant, luckily i have 7 hats now.

Once I also tried merchanting a bit, since I found it boring and extremely difficult I decided to stop doing it. Just won about 50k :P

i usually end up losing money, but did make money from buying a green mask fo r6.7, now worth 7.5m, dunno if that counts. i make my money fleching
