Post subject:  any1 sick of getting muted/banned for no stinkin' reason?!?
I have been banned for 7 days this time (last time was 3 days)... for some stupid reason, someone must have reported me for offensive language or auto-talking. The funny thing is, I didn't use any language and don't even have an autotalker (I'm afraid of keyloggers on them :oops: ). Since I type fast or something, some mod might have reported me because he thought I was autoing.


No offensive to some of those mods out there, but seriously, this is just a game and I don't see why you have to go muting people just because you see *stars* when people say something. I type things sometimes like for instance "selling rune2h 45K" which becomes "se*****************". This happened to me the first time I was banned (24 hours). I really believe that a lot of the mods out there abuse their power, and use it to an extent that it is really ticking me off. These mods need not to be so serious. I know not all mods are like this, but I'm sure there are lots. I befriended a fellow mod (not mentioning name), and helped him try to crack down on these fellow scammers who were "giving free items." Pretty funny I'd say, and when I was talking to this mod, some words came out as stars. He did not "mute" me regardless to say that I did help him.


The thing that I want to point out is that I am sick of Jagex and its banning of innocent players. It claims that it looks into these reports whenever someone is reported, but I seriously doubt that they do. This is the third time I've been banned (all for offensive language / autotalking), and I'm sure that it was a mod this time who muted me since I did see one close by. What sucks is that now, I have a "black-mark" beside me and I'm probably on the verge of being permanently banned. I also doubt that Jagex can even detect autotalkers because if they did, they would see that I never used one. Oh yeah, the second time I got banned, I got an automated message saying that I was muted for autotalking. This leads to my next point. I also doubt that Jagex even reads any of the messages / complaints from f2p, even though I know that they do focus mostly on their p2p.


Anyone who maybe knows the reason why I am actually being banned / muted, plz post here. Also, anybody who has been in the same situation, post here. To everyone else, post if u want.

lol... I like runescape, but I don't like Jagex... it's as simple as that. From the sounds of things, you probably didn't read what I actually wrote (why bother, eh) and you think that banning innocent players is the way to go for. Well good for you. I give you the thumbs down!

Strange. I read in the CS news that Jagex doesn't ban or mute people if the filter caught their mistake.

Sounds like moderator incompetence to me. No surprise at all given how ingame mods are selected. You might try writing them a letter about the mistakes of that particular mod and request that they pay more attention to that one's actions, but keep it business-like.

I have to agree...My friends have been banned for no reasons...One with a lvl 89 pure miner and the other was banned and he still doesnt even kno why.

But I also have to agree Jagex does ban everyone for a reason but the reasons can be totally stupid and totally unfair. Thats why they made the ban appeal so you can tell your reasons on what happend and why you shouldnt be banned.

thanks for your replies ppl, even though I doubt writing a letter is going to help. They will probably won't even read it, and most likely will toss'er out. I might write, but then, I don't want to bother wasting my time doing so.


... and btw... ban appeals can only be used if you are banned completely from the game. And why bother making an appeal when they don't even read what you write? :o:

if a mod muted u, it wouldn't of been for the censor doing it's job (even tho it does a rubbish job half the time anyways). no offense but just because u can type fast naturally doesn't mean u have to prove that u can type 80+ wpm in the game, because after all it is just a game.
speed typing isn't needed, relax a bit when buying or selling things.

Umm I just got banned for three days for "apparently" real world trading, which I didn't do. Why the hell would anyone spend more money on Runescape? I mean, it's just a game. I feel the same way about Jagex as Fire Masta, I don't like Jagex much, but I love Runescape.

I've been banned wrongfully, i got a 3 day ban for something i didn't do, I sent about 3 messages though and they changed there minds, but don't say Jagex don't ban people in error, because they Do.

i was banned once for auting (which i never do), i go to port phasmatyz or shilo and fletch or fish and bam reported......:S juar cuz i dont talk to the others...
