Post subject:  HACKED

I got hacked about two months ago and my member subscription had ended. So i had a lot of member items in my bank. Someone hacked my account and took everything, I dont know if they just dropped the member items or what, but do you think someone who hates me did this, or someone who just wanted the money. Because I dont understand why they took everything !!!! All that was left was a pair of ordinary boots, and my mime gloves and legs. Oya and a red cape. Kinda weird...don't you think?

Well i suppose he wanted to leave you some clothes to wear. 2 monts ago, and you didn't notice until now?...well hope you get your stuff back. Try non-combat skills like mining or fishing or something like that.

Go to barb village and grab bronze pick then mine the best you can with your mining lvl then sell it. Because you can't make money with fishing at f2p.

I honestly don't get how so many people can be hacked. Especially when "it's not their fault".

I've never been hacked, I've been playing for over a year now - maybe its because I dont tell anyone my password or play in public libraries? Idk.

I guess the best way to recover from a hack, is to mine if you are a high enough level to make mithril bars, or fish lobsters, perhaps chop willows/yews.

Yes same here, besides someone guessing it. Someone doesnt just somehow get a keylogger on your pc, if they are a skilled enough hacker, all they need is your ip address then they could. But theres not many on rs that can do that.

I agree with you Anubis, ive been playing 2 years almost, never been hacked. Even when i went to sites that had possibly keyloggers, or lots of spyware etc on my old pc with crap protection.

Sucks you were hacked, but honestly, most people that get hacked these days generally do because people send them something through msn.. or, send a bad website link, or you just tell someone your pass.

I have been playing RuneScape since April 2, 2004. I hjave never been banned, not even temporarily. I have never been hacked. I used to share this account with my brother, but ,once I started to do more with it, it lvled up faster and got lots of money.

Well, he didn't really want the account in the first place but once he found out I was lvl 70 he wanted my password back. So I gave it to him. He logged on, a few of my friends started talking to him, and he got off. When I logged in, they said i was acting weird. I said it was my brother. After that, I changed my password and have never and will never tell him again. At the risk of him being stupid, I do not want my account getting stolen. After reading what someone posted (I think..Robbie? Idk) about typing their password in with an on screen keyboard, I now do that. I have anti-virus protection.

I may seem paranoid, but I do not think I am. There are a ton of people out there who I know n real life and don't know in real life that would steal my account in seconds, if given the opportunity. But that's never going to happen. I don't think when, or if, I quit I will give my items away. because even when I take "breaks" from RuneScape I always come crawling back to the never ending game where I have friends who are real people.

Well, after reading that huge speech I hope you take some of my ideas and put them to use to secure your account from being hacked once more. I also have recovery questions that absolutely no one would know unless they could somehow tap into my mind. My account is safer than Fort Knox. :)

1. Never play on a public computer
2. Never share your password
3. I hope you get your stuff back, and get a bank PIN and a password that is hard to find( with numbers and letters maybe)
