Post subject:  What does Runescape do for you?
Well, so tell me, i mean, what does rs do for your life, does it somehow benefit you? Does it affect your real life? Since you have been playing rs, has your personality changed? Why is it that even though rs usually isnt good for us, we cant stop playing?

hope this is a no repeaditive topic, and also hope that i get some really serious, thoughtfull answers :)

For me, rs does nothing in my real life anymore. It does nto benefit me in anyway really.. The only thing i thank rs for is the fact i met my future real life wife on runescape :P

Does rs affect my real life? Has it changed my personality? or anything else about me? Yes, yes, AND yes. Rs has changed alot. It is addictive, yet in many ways i know i shouldnt be playing it as much as i do. (excluding the break im taking now). It has changed my personality, and affects my mood.. Just the other night, i was all happy and fine, i got on rs, then 5minutes later, i was tired, grumpy, had a headache.. After 20mins, i got off rs, and after 5minutes, i felt great again.

So what is it that keeps me coming back? if rs does all this bad stuff to me? why cant i stop? is there subliminal messaging? :P or is there just something about the game that draws me back?

Ok peoples, think before you post, i want some intelligent posts :P

RS just makes me feel guilty for wasting so much time playing it. But I do meet some cool people on it and it is something to do. As for personality, I don't think it really does much. I mean..if I get in a fight with someone, I don't think about PKing them or anything. Maybe I'm not answering the question full... :?

thats cool. maybe i should go into more on my answer :P when i said personality, i dont mean, your a completely new person now. I just mean, are there things about you that change, since, or while you play rs. Sometimes i get so bored, or fed up with the pathetic trash talkers on rs, sometimes it gets to me. But i dont start turning green or anything, and usually dont even bother fighting back. I dont pk, or say things like "omg you noob lets go dm pl0z" :P just rs sometimes just makes me feel like cwap, mainly with headaches, grumpy moods etc thanx mainly too annoying kids and noobs on there.

Well the main thing runescape does in my life is give me something to do in my free time. The other games on the xbox or ps2 ect... get boring after a while becuase they are not updated often, if at all. Being a member in Runescape we get updates every week. That is what keeps me comming back. Ever since I started playing, around 4 and a half years ago, I have made lots of friends on Runescape. A few of them very solid friendships. We have began to start talking about things besides Runescape such as other games on other systems and even things completely off the subject of gaming. I have friends on the other side of the US and on the other side of the world that I have very interesting non-runescape related discussions with. Mainly the updates in the game and getting to talk with those good friends of mine keep me comming back. If I don't come back I get a strange feeling of letting them down. :?

About my personality. I have to say that my personality has been changed since I began to play. Biggest thing is I feel that I am letting down friends that I will probably never get to meet in real life. Still runescape is good though. It always gives you something to think about, and the quest stories have helped me write papers in English class before. I don't copy exactly, but I do use the general story line a little bit. Yeah, go ahead and call me addicted to runescape but I don't really mind. Its something that is fun and enjoyable to do. You also learn some from playing the game. I have learned a few midevil terms in my time. I have also learned a small sense of money management from playing runescape. So overall the game has really helped me in a lot of ways. I plan to play it as long as I possibly can until I run out of time.

I also have to say that my runescape life wouldn't be the same without rsbandb. The community has helped me learn a lot about the game itself and about a lot of things outside of runescape. Before I came here I had no clue there was any progamming languages besides html. :shock: I have learned some of the other languages and what they are since I came here. I find that pretty cool. I also learned how to use graphics progams to make some pretty fair looking signatures. There are lots of people here that have the same effect on me as those solid friends in runescape. I feel that if I don't come back here I am letting people down. Thats why I keep on comming back.

So after summing all that up I just want to say thanks to everyone here at rsbandb.

:shock: :shock: :shock: very nice answer..lol in many ways i feel the same.. I actually often compare runescape with real life issues and things going on in real life..

I have met numerous friends, some very close, some i barely talk to. Runescape has kinda kept me sane in some ways :P but overall, i love and hate runescape :P

Mmm. I really don't get all that wrapped up in it anymore. And i don't really think it affects me ether. However...at times i have looked at my skills...seen the numbers and just got incredibly down thinking about all the time i've wasted and for what? Some numbers on a game that doesn't matter.

Now..now i play 1-2 hours a day on average. Sometimes i just don't even bother. And yea..im happier in life now than i was 2-3 years ago when i was so wrapped up in rs.

Well, to put my answer in a quick few words so I don't bore you, Runescape is a way for you to meet new people. We meet all sorts of people over Runescape. Those who take the game to the extreme, those who are the laid back type, those idiots who don't obey the rules, there's lots of people out there for you to meet, and I think Runescape just gets us started on a whole new world of new friends. And really, when you break down this game bit by bit, the most important thing is friends.

Plus if we didn't play Runescape, we wouldn't be here at Rsbandb. So I thank Runescape for my presence here at Rsbandb and I'm glad for it.

There you have it, my opinions on Runescape.

Wow.. everyones been writing ESSAYS. I'd better stretch this out a bit...

I find runescape boring, I sit here and stare at the screen. I find it repetitive and I need something else to do while I'm playing it. (rsbandb forums usually)

I've recently gotten really bored of everything, but I can't quit.. I'm addicted :| it's like a drug addiction where you know you want to stop, but you keep taking more anyway.

I'm just training cbt and slayer, cause I need something 'exciting' to do on runescape. Normally, I'd do a quest at this point.. but I honestly dont think 'rat catchers' is a worthy task for me.. I get to catch mice! joy.. I think I rather bury 40k normal bones -.-

The updates that members are getting now, dude, dont you find them boring? One new slayer creature.. possibly the best over the past month.
I need a new quest, something cool... something tht doesnt involve smithing, rats, or some stupid old woman telling me to plant seeds. A new legends quest would be nice...

What you said about the quest...i totaly agree...
most weeks i see a new quest come out for the update..its getting really boring. I'd like another master quest. A new quest like mourning ends part 3 would be nice. With some strong monster, the lvl 100s in quests are just too easy. with prayer pots and 43+ prayer its really easy to fight them.

I spend most of my time just chopping trees now and on rsbandb.
Even though its getting really boring now i can't seem to quit, something keeps drawing me back into it. Something new seems to happen, like maybe meeting someone new or a nice pking trip.

Runescape does affect my feelings. i seem to get annoyed with what people say to me or about me.
I like meeting loads of new people. New things to talk about and do with everyone i meet.
I've made some really good friendships that have recently come to an end..(they quit) :( and i was quite upset at the time they had to leave becuase of all the good times we had had together

not the last part bout quests cause im f2p but...ya.. i cant stop..its so borin now cause notin new ever goes out in f2p and if it is sometin new its like....a special event...like the christmas thing. so i dont no y i cant stop.. ive tried but i go crazy and run to find a computer....its a lil annoyin.

as for a personality i think its changed a lil bit..but not much. i dont think i do as much stuff as i did..wich is really bad...but im startin to play less...

Runescape didn't change my life much... it's a game. I like to play it. I meet new friends, can talk about everything. I signed up in RSBANDB. i meeted more friends and so on.
i just like this game nothing more :D
