Some folks claim that a noob is a player who breaks rules or engages in other irritating behavior, while a newb is someone who just doesn't know their way around. You won't find either in the dictionary, though. |

I'd agree with that, but on runescape, expect to see noob used as a substitute for newbie as well. Also be aware of various spellings of noob... n00b, nub, etc. Or other words that end in -oob (-00b) have the same meaning. Example: froob |

Yes It does relate to runescape because the word noob/newb began because of runescape ![]() |

![]() Actually, newb/noob did not begin in runescape. Both of those are used over the entire internet in the gaming world. Newb being an obvious shortening of newbie. |

Well it depends on how you want to use it. Noob: someone who's poor. (I guess...) N00b: person who died and didn't put up much of a fight. Newb: someone new to Runescape. |

Its most commonly seen as 'noob', however people who like to get technical like to say 'noob' is someone annoying, scamming, etc. and 'newb' is short for newbie and is just someone who is new |

Noob is used when a player does something another player doesnt like. for exaple; A player: whew... i almost died against that blk dragon.. WOW!! a d med! player 2: Noob... -- Player: Selling Rune Kiteshield 55k! Player 2: Noob, its 40k -- Player: *follows player 2 asking for 'phree stoof' player 2: go away, noob |

I'd say a newb is short for newbie as in beginner while a noob is the 1337-speak version of newb. Basically the same thing, but noob is way more common, thus I don't like it. |
