Mckennant: well said!! It seems the second (if not THE) most used word in RS is "noob", and none of the ppl using it seem to know the true definition of the term. Let's clear this up once and for all: A noob = a newbie acting hilariously/annoyingly/obnoxiously during the game A newbie = someone new to the game I face this almost every day. My combat lvl is only 10 and many ppl with much higher lvls lose the competition for mith in the mining guild since I have a mining lvl of 74. This, for less-than-obvious reasons, upsets them and they resort to random name-calling... "noob" being the most popular one used. Not only is this an oxymoron (how the h*ll can I be a newbie if I'm down in the mining guild?!?) but furhtermore when did I become hilarious/annoying/obnoxious?!? There I am, minding my own business, hacking away at the rocks (I even pay attention NOT to mine coal rocks that other ppl are already mining!!), and these induhviduals actually think I've done something inethical!!! |

It makes me mad when people make these topics. noob was ORIGINALY another word for newby. It's how it was ALWAYS used before rs2 and is still used with that meaning in other games. It's people that have decided it no longer means that personaly i disagree and think the word should remain meaning new. We have words like moron and idiot to discribe there attitude. |

It's being used so much these days that it has lost it's meaning really. Back in the days of RS1 everyone used to help each other out, and if someone didn't do this, they'd get called a noob. These days people get called noob for not giving 100k away for free. |

i think i'd rather solve world hunger and war before i tackle the issue of calling people noobs. i don't personally do it, but for god's sake..it's not as hurtful as a lot of other things you can be called/ |

i usually don't get the noob problem now, because i tend to stay out of ppl's way and train where nobody else is. |

ppl that go on about noobs in my mind are noobs themselves. |
