Post subject:  Bob, the Jagex Cat
Does anyone know the full history of Bob, the Jagex Cat? I have seen him several times in Runescape (twice in Burthorpe, and once in lvl 35 wilderness--near graveyard). If anyone knows anything about him, I am curious to learn.

i'm not sure if this is what u hoping to get from ur questions


bob is a cat involved in underground pass quest, you are suppose to pick it up and drop it near the witch house, people pick him up and kept him since he regenerates and droped somewhere else in the world.. so he appears everywhere

Are you sure? Whenever I examined him, it said "The Jagex Cat" and his name was specifically Bob.......I don't remember what the underground pass' cat was named, but I don't think that it was bob, and I am pretty sure that, when you examined it, it said "A witch's cat"

If that's all there is too it........... :cry:

Um, I don't think that's quite right :?

Bob was added into the game on Friday the 13th sometime last year (forgot the month :roll: ). Originally, he was simply named "Cat" and you only had the option to examine him. Bob respawned in southern Burthorpe. At that time, the gates that led in and out of members area would not stay open. They were like guild doors - opened automaticly and closed automaticly. Bob was stuck.

Jagex then named him Bob (actually the players on the RS official forums thought of the idea, and Jagex actually used it :P that's a first...).

Later, they added an update that allowed the gates leading in and out of the members lands to be able to stay open. This allowed Bob to roam where ever he wants. There are now several reports of seeing Bob at the Axe Hut in level 55+ wilderness, and all the way down in Yanille. Bob can go everywhere now.

That's the history of Bob. :wink:

Sweet, thx Giant Bug for illuminating his history for me.........now if we could only get some more pictures of him, this thread would be complete.......... :)

New goal, people! Get pictures of Bob! 8) (good job Ares for getting the first pic :) )

that cat is magic, i saw it teleport! i was following it around for a while over in taverly and after i followed it for a good 20 minutes it teleported like the mysterious old man does with that little balloon thingy above it when it teleports, and i ran into bob later on in yanielle in the same server.

Unfortunately, no :cry: Bob the cat is a members only feature, so even if he was to wander into the lands of free players, you still couldn't see him on a free server.

Oh, and about him teleporting; Bob is a magical cat that can teleport to his respawn point :shock: This is how he prevents himself from being stuck for too long. Peroidicly he will teleport back to his respawn point in southern Burthorpe.

I'll go look for more pics of Bob :wink:

Yeah ROFL is the cat in UP named Bob and celled The Jagex Cat? I dont think so.

I have a couple pics of Bob, I'll upload em soon :)
