Post subject:  TYPES OF SCAMZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well where do i start ok i know.

1)The Remove Item: ok this one of the most common. It's where someone puts a items in the trade box and quickly removes it just before u accept. TIP: always check in the second screen.

2)The Free Trimming: ok this one is plain stupid u must not now much about runescape to fall for this one. if u new about runescape armour with 'trimming' is only recieved from treasure trails which is members only. Free players get by trading a member. THERE IS NO ARMOUR TRIMMING

3) Team Scam: Someone says selling bad wine 200k. everyone knows this is worthless so which is why they dont keep any. Anyway somewhere along the track a person would be saying buy bad wine 800k. The player would then think o awesome i can make a quick 600k so he goes and buys the bad wine for 200k and goes to look for the 800k buyer and guess what he has disappeared. And the scammers have just made 200k off something that is worthless really. NOTE: sometimes people may actually not be scamming. but u never know really, they wont say o we are trying to scam.

4)Gem cutting: This is risky because people may be trying to get free gems or some might be actually cutting gems to get there crafting up. best to get a trusted person to do it.

I KNOW MORE BUT I JUST CANT SEEM TO REMEMBER! if u know anymore please post as it will help alot of people out.

giving away items..some times when your in a big world at a bank someone will say giving away party hat and then tell you to follow him he then will take you to a place and say spread out so he can see who has the best stuff then tell you he wants to play a trust game or somthing like that and say you offer him the stuff then he gives it back most people will say scam and walk off other less exp players will belive him he then start trading and he will give back alot of good stuff so you start offering better stuff and then after he gets like add g or trim stuff he will go you win to whoever offers the best stuff and then log out also he might stall like say he has lag or something he does this for the 60 seconds to pass so when you report him jagex gets nothing of the scam taking place so NEVER give yor stuff to someone who says we are gonna play a trust game or says you gotta over him stuff anything like if you do you might as well quit runescape i have felt the pain because i lost full guthix to scamers but i never quit i dunno why though well hope this helps

Yeh this is good for newer players to look at.

I learned the first one the hard way. I was buying a p hat in rsc for 500k. They took it off quick and I didn't bother to check the confirm screen. I didn't have a good day that day. :(

Agreed.
Newer and less knowledgable players could find this guide handy, you should make sure you get tons of scams and not just the most common few. Theres the look you can't say your password! Also, Selling account! Etc. Try and ask around, friends, start a new topic etc. Good guide anyways!

I like the guide but the titles..um...take away some of the exclamation points. :P

theres one thing that's not really a scam but it's close, someone trades you and puts up a nice expensive thing and accepts, then on the second screen he declines. That happened to me a couple of times.

Be careful when answering any random questions from people in game. I've had people attempt to try to get me to spill my recovery answers. This is a rare scam, but it happens.

And, I'm sure you all know this, but JAGEX WORD FILTERS DO NOT BLOCK OUT YOUR PASSWORD OR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. Please do not buy it when some autotyping noob comes into a bank saying "OMG JAGEXZ0RZ BL0X OUT UR PASS L00K OMG ***** U TRY IT!!!!@@@"
