Runescape Bits & Bytes :: View topic - Security Suggestion: Display Recent Login IP's

You know how whenever you log into Runescape, the welcome message shows the IP address of the last computer to log into your account? Well say you've been hacked but when you login to Runescape you didn't know it, so you instantly clost the Welcome screen. From then on, there is no way to know the IP address of the hacker.

I suggest that in the Secure Menu, there is a section that will display the last 10 login IP addresses. That will help Jagex pin-point the hackers easier, and it will give us a sense of mind that we are actually doing something on our helpless situation.

If you support this, please reply to this thread and tell Jagex what a good idea you think this would be. Thank you for your support.

Excellent idea, though I've never been hacked myself, I can see how you'd not know if you've been hacked or not until you've examined your environment for a few minutes. By this time, it's too late. It seems so simple, yet so essential... BTW, what's the name of the thread and which forum (Suggestions?)? Wouldn't hurt to directly post on it.

that is a very good idea, i don't pay much attention to the screen that displays the Ip when i log in or i lose connection as i log in and just get to see my own

I agree that that is a good idea...I dont pay much attention to the IP adress mentioned...but I would sure like to know if I went to my bank and found everything gone. I think it would be a help to show like the last three or something.

that would have helped a while back when i was hacked... back then i didnt know what a ip was and jeff told me to write down the ip from the hacker too late but i fully support the idea!!!

Yeah, i logged on to find myself in turoths today (From basalisks) but i closed the window because i didnt realise i was somewhere else.

Its a decent idea but think of all the dial up users. He can get hacked and not know it before signing it on like 3 times and not know his IP because everytime is different! Thats all i have to say. But I will support the idea since i have cable and doesn't effect muah.
