It seems the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops II came a little ahead of schedule, as the game's official UK site has exposed the game's release date and setting.

Just below the title's November 13, 2012 release date atop the page is a pre-order link. Once there, this descriptor awaits you:

Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.

While the video housed on the site isn't yet operable, it should be tonight after the game gets pubbed on TNT's NBA Playoffs broadcast.

Saw this coming.

So it's MW2 + MW3, except not. Except it's COD, so it is.

It'll sell well, for whatever that's worth.

Just like the CoD model goes. We reskin the weapons, mix and match what attachments you can use with what, throw in some new perks and kill streak rewards, and you've got a new game that will sell better than the last one. "The more things change, the more they stay the same" right guys?

I bet in the future, CoD developers will have to instigate real life wars to base their future games off of, cause they have no new ideas.

So CoD meets Terminator and Command and Conquer? This ought to be an interesting blend.

Not to be a ****, but those graphics aren't that good at all. This won't stop many (if any) of the people who usually play COD games from playing it, but jeeze.. For a game that sells billions in pre-orders, billions in game-day launches, you'd think they would make it be above the rest in all categories.

Maybe it's just that Treyarch uses whatever Activision gave them, rather then modifying the engine and core graphics. I'd expect the next generation from Activision to be much more visually appealing if nothing else.

Well, to be frank, the trailer does make the game seem appealing. I personally do not play shooters as much as my friends, and when I do I prefer other franchises/ games. Ever since CoD:World At War I've really been disappointed with what Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Activision have been putting out. It repeats far too often to warrant being a new game, but still more and more people buy them, and praise it for being so innovative and fun to play.

But, I think Treyarch has been putting out the better games. They at least are trying to put out something new. I think everyone can agree that Black Ops, and now Black Ops 2 is taking a step off the beaten trail of MW2 and MW3.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

black ops did a lot of things right compared to MW2. I probably for the first time since COD4 won't be buying this. Just because i'm really worn down from CoD lately.
