Signup for the new skill of the month has started! The skill this month is: Cooking. Please signup at http://www.rsbandb.com/skotm you will need a valid forum account to sign up. Signups end on the 1st of the month. The competition begins as soon as signups close and xp has been taken in at 12:01 AM RSBANDB time on the 1st.

The December competition continues until January 1st. Winners of the December skill of the month will be announced January 1st. We will also announce the winner of SKOTY (Skill of The Year) on January 1st. The SKOTY winner will be whichever forum user has gained the most experience in all 2009 SKOTM's combined.

Cooking for me is barely over the 13m mark, so I might use my money to get some xp, get a good rank in the process.

Man, just did a week and a half of cooking and managed to get 70 cooking, i am cooked out. No go this month.

I'm in a similar predicament to Marco and Mli 699 in so far as I already have 99 cooking. I'll sign up but since I'm no longer awash with money, SKOTM (...known as Scot-tem for evermore) for me this month will be an incidental affair.

Furthermore as a general principle, I can't see the justification in consuming real-life time adding additional xp to a level 99 skill I already have when there are other more useful skills yet to train to 99.

It's a shame SKOTM wasn't fishing first then cooking, that way we could have cooked the fish we'd caught.

Similar arguments apply to runecrafting -> magic, woodcutting -> fletching, mining -> smithing.
