Throne of Miscellania
Background: There are rumours the King has been turned into a beast, they need an experienced and brave adventurer to investigate. Could this be you?
Required Skills: You must have completed both the Heroes Quest and the Fremennik Trials Quest, Level 35 Herblore, and Level 45 Woodcutting.
Required Items: Iron Bar, Woodcutting Axe, any kind of Ring, Flowers (you can buy these for 15gp at Miscellania when you arrive also), Harpoon/Lobster Pot, Pickaxe, 100 coins. Also, if you’re a male player you will need to bring a Bow OR if you’re female you will need to bring a cake.
Quest Difficulty: Medium
Quest Length: Medium
Start Point: Speak to the King of Miscellania who is on the second floor of the south building. To get here, take the path from the dock west and then north-west past some fields with farmers, and then turn west into the building where the King will be located.
Reward: 1 Quest Point, 10,000 gp (if you withdraw it at the end of the quest), and your own kingdom to manage.
This map will help you find some of the locations during the quest:
1. Speak to the King once you find him and he will tell you about the constant battle Miscellania is in with their neighbours across the bridge, Etceteria. He is looking for a new ruler to govern Miscellania since he is cursed into his current form and cannot rule anymore, he then speaks of either the Prince (if you’re a girl) or the Princess (if you’re a boy).
2. Now you’ve spoken to the king, speak to his advisor Ghrim, just north of him.
3. When you speak to him ask him what else he can tell you then proceed to keep talking to him until you have found out about the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess.
4. Now is the part where you must do something different in the quest depending on your players gender.
5. If you haven’t done so already, now would be a good time to go and buy the flowers you will need for either the Prince or the Princess from the flower girl on the lower floor of the Kings castle.

Male Players
1. The Princess is located in the northern throne room of the Kings castle. Go and speak to her.
2. After you speak to her for the first time, give her the flowers and then proceed to compliment her until you keep getting the same reply.
3. Now you have to show you worth and dance for the Princess using the “Dance” emote. This can be found in the tab with the running man on it.
4. Now talk to the Princess again and find out about her love of Archery.
5. What a coincidence, you have the perfect present for her! Give her the bow you brought with you now.
6. Talk to her again, then blow her a kiss using the “Blow Kiss” emote found in the same place as the previous Dance emote.
7. Walk back to the kings advisor and ask him about an engagement ring. He will talk to you and tell you to give it to you.
8. Go back to the Princess and use the ring you brought with you on her. Talk to her again and she will agree to marry you.
Female Players
1. The Prince is located in the southern throne room of the King’s castle. Go and speak to him.
2. He will mock you and say he couldn’t possibly marry you unless you impress him enough. After he is finished talking, use the flowers you bought on him.
3. Speak to him again and you will discover his love for music and poetry, when he asks you what you think of it reply with “You will be the greatest bard!”.
4. Speak to him again and ask him why he doesn’t have whordes of women running after him, when he asks you why that might be reply with “Because they don’t understand your poetry and I do”.
5. Speak to him once more and he will ask if you would like to hear his poem, say yes and listen to it, when hes done say “Be still, my heart!”.
6. Now, using the “Dance” emote found in the tab with the running man, dance for the prince.
7. Then using the “Clap” emote, clap for the prince.
8. Speak to him yet again and you will exchange names.
9. And yes, speak to him again and this time you will be told how he thinks you like poetry more than what he first though, reply with “How poetic”.
10. Speak to him again, this time to hear a Saga. How riveting. When hes done, reply with the polite option.
11. Speak to him again and ask what he would do if he was ruler of Miscellania, reply with “A much nobler pursuit, to be sure”.
12. Now give him the cake you brought with you. Be careful not to eat it! Sometimes it a good idea to bring 2 just in case you misclick it. He will accept it.
13. Speak to him again and you will talk about marriage, but hes not ready to marry you just yet.
14. Speak to him again and you will ask about his sister, the Princess, reply with “Im glad to hear it”.
15. Speak to him once again and he will ask you if you’ve ever thought of being a poet, reply with “Ive never thought I had the skill”.
16. Speak to him again and he will sing you a song, reply with “That was lovely! Im touched.”
17. Now youre almost ready. Use the “Blow Kiss” emote on the Prince.
18. Now use the ring you brought with you on the Prince. He will agree to marry you.

6. Now go back down the stairs and outside the castle. Follow the path that leaves the castle walls north until you come to a fork, take the eastern fork here that passes by Maple trees. Take the path until you come to a bridge and cross it. Once you are across the bridge you will come to another castle. Walk inside and take the stairs in the southern corner of the castle upstairs.
7. In the central room is the Queen, speak to her.
8. She will explain to you what really happened between her and the King of Miscellania. Go back to the King now.
9. Talk to the King and tell him what the Queen wants, he will say he will only agree to her requests if they get a new National Anthem. Go back to the Queen again.
10. The Queen asks you to go and find a bard to write a new anthem for her. Lucky you have Brand to write one for you! Go back to the Kings castle and speak to the Prince.
11. Speak to the Prince and tell him you need a new anthem, he will have one done for you in the nick of time. Take it and go and speak to the advisor again.
12. The advisor will rewrite it for you and the piece of paper in your inventory that used to be the “Bad Anthem” will change to a “Good Anthem”. Take this anthem to the Queen.
13. Talk to the Queen and she will take the anthem and give you a treaty for the King to sign. Take this back to the King now.
14. Unfortunately due to the Kings large hands, he cannot hold a normal pen. You need to find him a pen that he can hold so he can sign the treaty now.
15. Take the path out of the castle north again but this time when you come to the fork, take the northern fork. Keep walking north until you come to an Anvil.
16. This is Derrik, the blacksmith. Talk to him and give him the Iron Bar you brought with you. He will make a “Pen Nib” for you.
17. Walk back towards the castle now but before you go back to the king, find am Evergreen tree and chop it down to get some normal logs. You cannot chop the Maple Trees here because all the wood gets given to the Lumberjack.
18. Once you chop the logs use the logs with the giant pen nib and you will make a giant pen.
19. Take this pen to the King now.
20. Speak to the King and he will sign the treaty. Then he will tell you that the villagers are not entirely happy with having you as ruler yet, and you should do something to gain their support.
21. Speak to the advisor now and ask him how you can gain the support of the population. In order for you to be named Regent you will need 75% of the populations support. To gain more of their support you need to help the villagers with their daily tasks. To do this, simply do some mining, woodcutting, weeding, or fishing around Miscellania. There is a Mining Spot next to Derrik, a Fishing Spot on the docks where you arrived on the ship, a Woodcutting Spot in the centre of the Miscellania by the fork in the road, and a Weeding Spot on the south-eastern wall of the Kings castle (don’t try and weed the patches over the bridge, the Queen doesn’t allow it).
22. Return to the Advisor to check how much support you have, once you have 75%, speak to the King again.
23. The King will start the ceremony and you will be granted ruler of Miscellania.
24. QUEST COMPLETE!
Note: Now you have power over the kingdom you can delegate villagers to collect resources for you. You must speak to the Advisor to choose how many villagers are working and what they are working on using the following interface.
When you speak to the Advisor he will give you a book which explains how to run the kingdom properly. In order to keep the workers working you must keep them happy with you, to do this you must keep helping them with their tasks like you did to gain their acceptance during the quest. The more they love you, the harder they will work for you. However, in order for them to work for you they not only have to like you but you have to pay them a small wage. To do this you simply deposit money into the Coffers which they will take wage out of as they collect resources for you. When you are given the kingdom at the end of the quest there is already 10,000gp in the Coffers. If you like, you can withdraw this to keep but keep in mind if there is no money in the Coffers the villagers will not work! You can go back to Miscellania to collect the resources the villagers collect for you but don’t go back too often or they wouldn’t have collected much.
