I don't have a bone to pick with Invention, but having heard what people on both sides have said, I think Jagex could have done better...and that's putting it lightly. I get the fact that you can't test every possibility or reality without injecting something directly into the game. That said, I have a problem with Jagex not taking a better approach.

In my opinion, it would have been better to release Invention, give it a day or two to see what happens, then rollback everything for that two day period, fix the kinks, then re-release the skill. Yes, top level skillers would be made as hell, yes people who made a lot of money would be mad as hell, yes people who put time into their account during those two days for Invention or anything else would be mad as hell. However, this is more fair and in the long run better for the skill and for the game than nerfing and adjusting the skill IN MAJOR WAYS as you go...and not "refunding" people for their time and resources.

Say what you will, but I honestly think Jagex dropped the ball on this. Perhaps their isn't a perfect or ideal way to go about implmenting a skill like this into the game. It certainly is very unique skill in how it works and how it effects the economy, but all the more reason to test it more thoroughly. They owned up to it, but owning up doesn't change the fact they still screwed it up.
