Hey Shane and Reid! It seems almost everything higher-level for combat gear requires maintenance, which in some way comes back to paying GP for use. While I understand the upsides, it seems like my lower-tier (and mostly non-degradable) equipment isn't all too terrible. I'll probably end up getting some of the nicer weapons soon, but for what I'm doing, I'm not really missing higher-tier gear. What do you think about this trend toward degradable gear? I know it started around the time I stopped playing, though it first came to the economy with Barrows. The costs are drastically different, however, for Barrows use vs the newer gear. I'm more of a fan of non-degradable gear, but am willing to spend the extra coin if it's noticeably better and pays for itself in terms of drops.
