Not much can be said at the moment but it's a work in progress as you'll have probably gathered in about 3 seconds when you click on the link below. I'm woking on a tomb of some sorts with the idea of implementing a zen garden-esque theme to it. My primary concern in this piece is revamping my skills in regard to grass which over time has proved inconsistent and frustrating. I am aware the exposure in the image is slightly high (>.<) and the bump maps on the back wall are misaligned with the rest of the objects but.. NO. I WILL NOT DECONSTRUCT MY OWN IMAGE FOR YOU. THATS YOUR JOB.

I'm anticipating great comments and criticisms from the six people who still look in this forum :P

...Thank-you. :)

It looks pretty cool, almost reminds me off the mausoleum in diablo 2

Could you remind me again what program you used to create this?

I like the mood in the image. Though perhaps you should use a bit less mirroring on the marble. As for the grass; I think you've got the color perfect but the structure is a bit off. It looks it's been forced down as if someone combed it.

I still use 3d Studio Max for my 3d work although I'm not sure if I've started using a newer version since my last posting here, however currently I'm using the 2011 version. Thanks for your comments, I've just noticed a portion of the grass that I'm thinking you're referring to in the left of the image below one of the rocks, which indeed looks very flat. Easily sorted out, though this is a perfect example of why I ask for criticisms on this forum - simply because sometimes other can see what I've overlooked. Reflections are there because i'm in the middle of a transition from steel to marble, I'll tweak it a little bit before the next render, perhaps down to 75% should do...

Thanks again. :)

Just out of curiosity. How long does it take to render that? Must be a couple of hours at least

That actually took about 45 minutes I think, aside from the grass, the rest is very low poly.

I dunno what those white rock thingies are supposed to be but they look like a bunch of eggs LOL
Make it seem like it's a tomb for an egg reproducing slimy thing that has been weakened so it has retreated to gather strength and an army of offspring while plotting its next move.

For a place like that you'd expect they'd be able to afford someone to cut the grass around it. But it looks kept enough that it gives a feeling that someone cares about the place but at the same time is rarely visited. lOl idk

I really like this. Good job Anubis! (and long time no see hahaha, how have you been?)

My only real issue is the shading of the doorway on the thing in the center. I suggest making the "wall" of the door a bit darker, as well as the wall inside. Right now the lighting looks like it's on the same plane as the left-outside part of the doorway. If it were a little darker it would give it more depth and appear to be more 'inside' the building in my opinion.

Very very nice but I'm not sure about the sort've staticy effect on the far right, touching the right hand edge. It doesn't seem the show a similiar effect to the black on the other side. Although this might be something to do with it being a WIP :D

are you using a sunlight / daylight system or regular lights in 3ds for it?

also the brick on the first column also has a bit to high reflectivity on it's material as well as the floor, tho probably cause of using a metal preset for it to begin with, otherwise nice work so far.

edit: also the forward most stone looks like it's sticking out of the grass a bit to far, or the grass is also over flattened to the left of it as well.
