Fire giants are pretty slow, since they're not spawning that fast. Ideally you would want to train on a place with tons of monsters that will hardly do any damage and where it's not that crowded.

There are safespots at tzhaar or you could use the bots there as human shields but its only worth it if you can beat the bots to the kill.

lol actually firegiants are GREAT training

i used them 83-93 about 50% of the time.. bring a magic short bow, rune arrows, and good tank ranger gear.

my set up is usually veracs skirt and helm (when not on a task [i substitute slayer helm if im training range with slayer])

saying this as a 99 ranger...it may be slightly slower than i get but i was getting great xp still at low levels.

1-40 flesh crawlers, 40-70 i was doing those mid level cockroaches and then i moved on 70-83 with ankou all 1-83 levels raised in f2p ^.^

83-93 training i did aviansies and firegiants... but aviansies are sorta bad now because of all the bots. 93-99 i used the best training :) chinning

GL :) some people say training range is boring but i think it was really fun when i got into it.

Lol it's funny because I was probably knifing fire giants to 70 no particular reason why though. Probably knifed moss giants before that too. XD
Side note: looking at my melee XP gains in old pics from when I was killing shadow warriors, looks like I killed around 10000 of them looking for a left half. Looking back to then, all I can say is at least my visage hunt still wasn't a complete waste of time. XD

Anyways, I'd say whatever you're training on, knifing or darting would probably be the best XP (unless you can't hit with knives...). Unless someone knows differently to current training, since I stopped training range without slayer in 2006 (well chins 83-99). But that is something else to do maybe, depending the tasks: slayer. Not saying it's the best XP but you're training slayer at least.

The exp isnt that great, and apparently autoers are a problem now, but when I was training range, I did a lot of avianses, and then saved the money I made form there to chin from 95-99.

Also, I trained at caged ogars, and black knives at Yaks are decent.

Lol I assumed that since before Yaks were so crowded before that now they would be impossible to even attack. I don't know just wondering if someone has been there recently. Because even in 2008 it was so crowded that it wouldn't be something I'd do.
