Why don't players go to JMod hosted events?

A picture is worth a thousands words, but I'm going to add some to this one anyway.

4% of players who answered participate, wow. Of course that number is skewed since people who did participate might be more likely to pass up voting, but it never ceases to amaze me..I guess part of the reason is that I don't check too much into it. Partly that I don't play on P2P. Partly that you just see a hundred people whining for a Jmod's attention :roll: . It feels more like following around a celebrity who is being mobbed by fans than actually having fun. Oh, and let's not forget the massive lag with all the players there...even with a good and new computer.

What do you think? Do you attend JMod events? Why/not?

I attend them when I can, but they're rather infrequent (and rarely announced or advertised). On top of that, they run 5-8 hours ahead of most of their subscribers, so them running an event at Noon their time would be anywhere from 4-7 AM in North America.

Also, the community, sadly, is very indifferent to taking part in events. All people care about is maxing out, very few (if any) care about actually having a community anymore.

If this poll was run in Old School, however, I think the numbers would be quite different. I've seen JMods randomly before; they're on and in the community a lot.

I don't go mainly because the UK timezone is awkward for me.

Other than the fact I don't play much RS lately, the poll is reflective of my reasons. Usually I never hear about them or know when they are, and even if I did know, they are usually at a bad time. I think there are just too few JMods to be noticeable in game aside from these events.

My real life friend goes to many Jmod events.
He always talks about his pvm trips with mod lee.

He even recently took part in Jagex's twitter competitions. Where he won a concept art piece signed by several mods.
Lucky him. (my point being, is that he's into this sort of activities)


As for me, I can't be bothered. Not only are they typically not at great times for me but I also don't know when they takes place. Maybe if it was a main page announcement.
I don't always play a lot of scape, but when I do, I'm often busy doing my own thing.


Now if they had a Burthorpe game's room event?
I'd make time for that. 8)

Usually the time for me is in on the weekend in the late morning. That is running errands time for me.
